Hey there! This suggestion will be a bit of a different one. This is a collection of some ideas I had for additions to clan building. They can be read wholly separately and in any order, but due to their individual lengths, I will not be adding a TL:DR, nor will I be including pros and cons lists, as making one per addition would be quite tedious. Hope you understand. Enjoy!


Maps:

As their names imply, maps show a map on the surface they are placed on. They exist in two variations: the sea map shows the entirety of the sea the island lies in, and the island map shows a zoomed in version of the map, only showing the island and its direct surroundings.They can be placed both vertically, in all directions, as well as horizontally, facing upwards.

Here are some ideas for features maps could have:

  • Clan builds: Maps show a minimalistic version of the clan’s builds, on top of the already existing island.

  • Points of interest: Maps show points such as

  • Docks

  • Shops

  • Bounty boards

  • Barracks

  • Pins: Elite ranks and above gain the ability to place pins on the map. These are limited to 5 per map. Their goal is to both allow players to create defensive strategies for when their island is under threat of another clan, as well as artificially create points of interest. These can be created and removed by clicking on the desired point on the map while holding a claiming flag.

The max amount of maps able to be placed in a build ranges from 1 to 3 depending on the island, as follows (ranked by alphabetical order):

1 Max

  • Cedar Arch

  • Ierochos

  • Limestone Key

  • Sandfall Isle

  • Thorin’s Refuge

  • Whispering Caverns

2 Max

  • Cassia Bay

  • Claw Island

  • Drakos Arch

  • Harvest Island

3 Max

  • Blackreach Island

  • Shale Reef

  • Thrylos Crossing

  • Tidecliff Isle


Training dummy:

Training dummies can be placed and act as an NPC. This means they can suffer from attacks and be inflicted by status effects, with both showing damage markers. However they:

  • Do not have an AI

  • Cannot be killed

  • Do not have a health bar

  • Cannot be moved or be dealt knockback to

Clans can only place up to 10 training dummies per island. They would allow for damage testing, and would be a good tool for decoration.

Clan shop stands:

Clan shop stands would function the same way as other stands, needing a castaway to be rescued to the island they’re placed in to first work when they’re placed. When interacted with, any clan player could do either one of these four actions

  • Give an item away which would be stored in the clan shop.

  • Post a request for an item, with the option for a reward to whoever can fulfill it

  • Take an item from the clan shop with a real life day-long cooldown

  • Fulfill a request, gaining the reward if there was one.

These would allow clans members to help eachother out, as well as find uses for nicher items.


Small / Thin / Regular Arena Grounds:

This terraforming option allows to place ground visually identical to the Munera Garden and Elysium arenas. It also functions almost exactly the same, with galleon and infamy losses being disabled. The main difference is that this property would be entirely disabled for 30 minutes every time a clan contests the claim held over the island, or if an island structure is damaged by another clan.

In addition to this, a change could be made to allow players from other clans and without one to set spawn in the small tent building if the clan who holds the claim over the island allows it.

Really detailed explanation, the only thing I don’t fully agree with is maps due to how specific it’d have to be and considering the small and detailed nuances of each build having to be loaded. Although the spaghetti art of pins might be funny. Training dummies is a really good idea for just feeling out a build and should totally be a thing. Paintings allowing for more creativity in an already creative community seems really good. Clan shop stands makes the clan and island feel more unique and rewarding in terms of items and being in the clan. And finally arena grounds which would be really tedious due to the geography of some of the islands, but if larger islands are introduced or better terraforming then it should totally be a thing! Really good effort and ideas. :moai:

i think it’d be cool that if you tried to do smth an island in a marked clan area it gave like a boosts

maybe each pin could have difffeerent uses or smth, like smaller island have pvp oriented buffs and farming islands like cassia have some farm bonuses

okay but why, what is the lore explanation thing that gives that buff to you, or idk maybe vetex could add statues of each god to pray and get those buffs but, but you know, you need a lore reason for something like that d - b

its a point of interest for your clan and you extra motivated to claim it?

tbh people only attack other clan claimed islands for free infamy, and if you will only need the buffs well… you can just, hop server until you get a server with the island that you want, you know, like a normal person, i think that’s why empires updates was so poo

but there would alos be like farming buffs

like how i said, people is going to hop server until they see the island that they want unclaimed, because, who want to fight against some other clan for 2 hours and get enemies, knowing that clan servers has like, their whole discord team always connected, clan wars are about who can flow the server with all their reinforcement first

you dont have to pin claimed/claimable islands according to the suggestion, maybe lerechos gives a bonus reagent everytime you picjed one up or smth liike that

i think it could work only if the buff on each island are randomized for each server, and only if the buffs starts on 0% in a new server, if someone claims it, they will need to wait like.. uhm.. idk 2 hours? to get the full buff but if someone steals the island, it will steal the buff too, so people could get a genuine reason to fight other clans for a island because, nobody likes to wait

sounds unfair ye but life is unfair

btw the buff should progressive increase too, like.. each 5 minutes it increase +2.5% or 5%

and thinking about this, this could work too for stealing other people reagents lmao, like this could totally negate afk farming, you could just break someone defense walls and sneak to steal all their reagents, if you get caught all the reagents that you stole go to the victim farms again but if you wait until you get off combat tag, the reagents are now for you

of course this doesnt work against guilds, if they even can build

Peak, for the dummies i think they should be client sided to reduce lag and also to allow multiple people to use them and if they have a max HP, to not make a line for people who wanna test
