Class Name Removal

Spirit/Magic build

Fighting Mage ; Strong Warrior ; Magical Fighter was lokey the best route we could have taken, im geneunly sad that vetex got bent on that, but prob wont be bent on this change.

They won’t be since they just joined.
We call them that because we’ve been familiar with it for multiple years and its been an official part of the game for that entire time.
It is going to be inconsistent, it will be confusing, and it will not benefit anyone.

Use. Your. Head.

either this or the first system he proposed, im total with that. Awakening or current name systems are confusing.

Wow that was pretty cool

okay point out to exactly where vetex said that we’re now supposed to refer to the builds as the awakenings. i want to see vetex flat out say those words

yeah cuz they suck. and where is vetex expecting you to use the damn awakening names as the new class names? your point is nonsense and makes no sense because vetex REMOVED CLASS NAMES because they make no sense. what you’re yapping about is basically vetex removing the current shit names and then replacing them with new ones

no. the classes are just gone

and where are you pulling that from? vetex has literally said he hates the class names and they don’t exist. and also you just said he was adamant about removing them so yeah he does have problems with them and always had

Oh no

The thing is people can use whatever label they want and nobody is going to have any problem with that. Power of the Gods is the name of the awakening, Spirit/Magic are the names of the stats. It doesn’t actually make any difference for the casual player.

Displaying it by awakenings has the same level of abstraction for a new player except that people also don’t call it that and it’s more words to look up.

Displaying it by name like it is now is still abstract to new players however it’s a single word, memorable name.

Displaying it by stats invested immediately tells a new player “this is a Spirit / Magic user.”

I still prefer having one singular name for each build that I can say and everyone instantly understand exactly what I mean.

okay so they’ll make up their own crap like gen alpha making up their own slang. they won’t care that grandpa gen 4s are saying “”“conjurer!!!” no they’ll say “magic/weapon build” or smth

okay well no they’re not official because nothing in early access is “”“official”“” everything is subject to change and you’ll get over it eventually

exactly like the current names. they’re inconsistent. they’re confusing. they don’t benefit anyone. they don’t exist in lore. they make no sense and I’m glad they’re gone

that doesn’t even happen with the current names

My IDEAL system, would be the following:

Depending on stat allocation, a priority in which words will be displayed are different.
Imo there should be 3 word max (3 route savant)

Pures are staying as that, maybe change berserker into fighter.

Spirit - Oracle
Magic - Mage
Strength - Fighter
Weapon - Warrior

Hybrids are calculated as following:

You have prefix and main name. It depends on largest stats, and if they are equal, then it goes in priorty from vitality to weapons, such as ladder in the J menu.

Main name is just largest stat and will be picked from pures, while prefix will be picked from other stat.

Main Name:
Spirit - Oracle
Magic - Mage
Strength - Fighter
Weapon - Warrior

Prefix:
Spirit - Spirit
Magic - Magic
Strength - Strong
Weapon - Weapon

Examples
160s 120m warlock → Magic Fighter
140spir 140wep knight → Weapon Oracle

And for savant:

You pick hybrid’s name but just add “with” for 3rd route.

Magic Fighter with Vitality
Strong Oracle with Weapons

holy shit shut up and stop being a dense asshole for 5 seconds.
anybody who’s played the game for any amount of time doesn’t find them inconsistent or confusing.
it is beneficial to be able to instantly express an idea in a single word.

so you’re saying no one is gonna understand what you mean when you say “magic build” or “mage’s wisdom”? because i’m pretty sure everyone on the forums and on discord and everywhere else in this community is not some casual bozo and understands everything

I thought we weren’t using awakening names as class names.
also ‘magic build’ could mean literally any magic build.

so no, I don’t expect people to get the idea instantly.
its just more words for nothing.

i have a thousand hours in this game and i find them inconsistent and confusing because a warlock is not a magic and fighting style user but a male witch

and a paladin is a magical knight or something and not some spirit and magic user

a warlord is not some mf who uses strength and weapons but a lord of war lmao

and tell me who is stopping you from doing that? you’re just mad for absolutely no reason because this change changes nothing at all

ig all i can say is cope

“What is your name?”
“Robert Robertsky.”
“But it says John Johnson in your resume!”
“I can call myself whatever I want.”

If people use different words for same things, issues in communication ought to happen

I’m not even mad about this, the only thing frustrating me here is how utterly insufferable you are to everyone here.

is it required to be this much of a degrading asshole?

Imo this must be the main goal of even showing class or awakening.
You should instantly understand what that person has.
