How would they be equal in power if one nation has a resource that the other doesnāt.
this also means that they are equal in power in some ways but some ways not.
some have more advanced technology in some ways such as boats but also one is advanced in iron and metal.

Second map is really small if they have connecting bridges that can be crossed. Would be more like two tribes instead of two nations. You also may want to specify how each side has advantages when you make the map, maybe have one side be more mountainous which allows them better minerals and fortification while the other is more flat and closer to sea level, leading to advanced travel methods.
