This isnt me doom posting or crying about balancing but why do some weapons that are a lower tier than others have damage on par with the superior tier.
Lets take this for example: Bronze Musket vs Old Musket Bronze Musket affinities and damage
you’d run the higher tier weapons in order to be able to have higher tiered skills. poor quality weapons have a skill tier cap of 3, while good quality has a tier cap of 7.
i find it weird how all weapons have basically the same 1 1 1 stat affinities when you’d expect something like dagger to have more speed and less size than greatsword
but nooo instead we get the goofy ahh invisible weapon weight system
uh… yeah?
it’s the same weapon type with the same damage affinities.
the main reason you want to use higher level things is because they have more skill slots and better tiers
Because they are already by having a higher cap on tiers, thus being useful for longer.
Rare and uncommon weapons currently also have more actual stats as well but have a small stat downside in return. It is like this because if higher and higher level weapons just kept having more and more free stats for their level, weapon classes would just completely powercreep other classes until Level 300 when lost magics/fstyles become available.
And also 50 weapon savants would be even worse when 50 weapons is already pretty mediocre as is.
basically every weapon has a completely seperate affinity altering stat that is weapon weight
in example, daggers will always have smaller and faster skills and such
i think every strength weapon has slower and bigger ones
