Maybe you’ve heard this thousands of times by now, but don’t underestimate the usefulness of the instructor.
He can teach you the basic combat of the game. Maybe you can’t beat him, but you can use him to train different aspects of combat.
For instance, I first decided to Parry Train. I would try and parry him a bunch of times until he got posture broke. Then, I decided to mix it up, and learn how to Parry Trade.
Then, I learned how to sort of dodge his attacks. Still learning though, because it always catches me offguard.
Also, mudskippers are supposed to be free exp. And, don’t be afraid of going into a large crowd of enemies. I’ve learned they don’t really attack at the same time, taking turns instead(like in Naruto).
And also, you should create burner files.
After the death of Rowan, I decided I wouldn’t get attached to my files, and start dedicating them for one thing. Currently, Gabriel the 4th is my 1st burner file. I used him to learn the PVE of the game. Still not complete, though.
Deepwoken is a Permadeath rougelike. Use that to your advantage like I did, it could be pretty useful.
i created a second file as a burner but then i got attached so i had to get a third LMAO but yeah i’ve been training against the instructor on both of my builds and i’m getting better
Cause of death: I made it to lower Erisia, but a player killed me. I think he was a freshie since his combat was sloppy like mine. But still he was able to best me. I spawned back at my boat and avoided him, trying to explore Erisia. I found a Sharko but tried to avoid it. But when I was trying to climb up some walls it aggro’d on me. Then I got attacked by more bandits as well. I managed to run away since the Sharko decided to attack npcs, then I healed up. I came back to try and do SOMETHING against the Sharko, but my health was low and some other player came in to defeat both me and the Sharko. It was the player (a shadow user) who got the last hit on me and carried me whilst fighting the sharko, then gripped me when he beat the sharko. In the depths I ALMOST made it back, but I got defeated by Lesser Angels. I did manage to beat several jellyfish this time though.

Cause of death: Twice to bandits in Lower Erisia. In the depths I was gonna try to escape but I accidentally fell into the void and died of gravity, among other things.
