This is an interesting idea that i dont think has been mentioned on trello, and correct me if lore says otherwise, but what if you could destroy a sea scroll?
I mean i know you’re probably thinking, “sandal, why would i want to destroy a sea scroll?”
Well the answer could be multiple things but heres like 1:
Perhaps as you join the navy you can destroy more inherently evil types of scrolls, like darkness or death magic, and gain fame and exp from it, maybe even money or a special title if you destroy enough.
Or maybe you dont want the scroll because of other reasons idk.
Yeah anyways tell me what you think about this, its a weird idea but i mean i could theoretically see it working as long as it agrees to lore.
why the fuck would anyone do that when they could just trade it for hella valuable item
fame and exp will be way easier to get than a fucking lancient scroll
I remember reading somewhere that preventing them from being tradeable causes them to become much more sought after and encourage players to do things like fight npcs and explore the dark seas, which in a way does make sense.
I mean if they are tradeable, the purpose of exploring the dark seas and fighting npcs and treasure hunting kinda gets a little less important in my opinion, and thats kinda some of the main fundamental features of ao, also, like, these things are supposed to be rare, wouldnt it be better to make them a lot harder to get the ones you want to add more of a challenge so players stick around more?
Remember that there are like 20+ magic scrolls, meaning 0 people would get the type of magic they wanted. They’re still extremely rare, and if you find one that isn’t the magic you need you’d simply trade it with someone that does have the one you need.
