I hated almost every response to this including the less extreme ones.
I’m elevating it to the level of getting triggered about the community because I am responding to people currently on the forums being petty and disrespectful.
Like are we really trying to say this is still not representative when it is happening here?
I mean none of this really contradicts what I was trying to say though. Especially with the confirmation that there are more personal reasons we are not aware of.
Look, I understand that people blew up the changes way out of proportions and you have a right to be angry about that. But to base your view on an entire community by the actions on some seems a little absurd in my opinion
I’m not trying to downplay what people have said, but don’t let people sour your general view
You’re also probably not in the mood to argue online so I’ll just stop it here
Not the whole community moreso than the Warlord and Savant communities. I guess the community as a whole for being prone to this.
I don’t really like the notion of “well not literally every player was participating in it”. Any generalizations you ever make are going to have outliers, that’s just how generalizations work.
When I’m generalizing here I’m saying that a lot of the voices complaining should be treated as significant and more than just a “vocal minority?”
Are they a vocal minority? Most likely. But this community has like 100s of thousands of people so of course they are gonna be a vocal minority when there are a lot of people who probably don’t talk much to begin with.
On the note of blaming the community as a whole, generally speaking that’s a stupid idea because:
The development team fosters the community. They are a result of what happens at the top.
You can’t control a mass amount of people.
But when I see people pull a complete 180 on someone who has gave it his best to give people what they want then icba to let that slide.
If it were just complaints slung at the balance team or the game itself then I’d still be triggered but at that point you can’t assign any blame to the community because that’s just a natural way for people to react and is explicitly a result of the game’s development.
Gotta put some respect on Vetex’s name too, I mean damn that’s a truly insane amount of fixes and changes in such a short amount of time. He clearly cares about the game and puts in the work. Everyone loves Moochezz just because he made a ton of changes that were extremely convenient and even listened to a lot of community suggestions and feedback. Also woops, wrong topic before.
I mean Vetex deserves a lot of respect for creating the game itself but I’m not gonna be as mad when:
He primarily controls what happens to the game.
Moochezz’s effective role was responding to community demands that Vet wasn’t focused on.
Moochezz hate was a sudden 180 and not something that slowly developed over time (it probably did to some small extent but that extend was kinda meaningless)
This is like someone who decided to give their talent to the game because there were a lot of issues with the development cycle.
Oh I’m not arguing against the way the community reacted being wrong, I’m just saying that we should appreciate Vetex as well as he doesn’t get enough frankly.
I guess so. I’m just explaining why I reacted towards this a lot more harshly than I would if this situation involved Vet instead (which would still be wrong but it would feel less like a betrayal if that makes sense)
Well if it has been any other sector of people who 180ed on moochezz I’d probably hate them too.
I just don’t like seeing people suddenly flip over a single issue on someone who was generally considered a positive force.
Effectively punishing people who spend much of their time trying to add stuff for us that would otherwise be pushed to the sideline is not the method.
I imagine this was all addesssed in the “have we treated moochezz too harshly?” post but when I see a random “moochezz gone” meme image with 30 likes I’m not gonna just let that sit there.
When people get popular and liked a community forms around that. That wants them to fall this happens unfortunately everywhere. I dunno why people do it maybe it’s envy, maybe they just wanna hate. But like the picture you sent they actively pray on their down falls. IMO it’s best to ignore them and not give them the attention thry oh so desire
It’s more like people of the roblox community cannot handle any negative changes to their build, often lashing out at whoever made the changes regardless of how impactful said changes were
Well, more specifically those who take the competitive side of a game way too seriously
This is counterproductive to imagine because mage should have all its spells. Do said spells need more balancing is a different question to everybody else has those spells.
The better case would be if Paladin could for some reason hold the equivalent of 240 magic for free with no downsides.
