Do people even try to maximize their jewel substats?

When I see people’s builds, I always see imperfect jewel substats and always rage because my perfectionistic ass can’t live without maximizing jewel substats

Like seriously, I get it you have your so-called perfect build but it doesn’t matter if you have like 3% attack destruction
You can get a perfect substat at the cost of literally none of your stats, sure it’s going to be your main concern when you make a new build (and take 10x longer than acquiring everything else), but its free buffs! why wouldn’t you want that!

It’s like Cernyx set and sunken warrior, Cernyx is… sub-par for me but when you compare it with sw, then sw literally gives free stats compared to cernyx
It’s like Maria and lost diplomat set, lost diplomat has higher ep than Maria set while also giving power and resistance, which is free state
It’s like modifiers, sure you could go and just use an unmodified version for much less grinding, but you could also go for the modified version and get free stats
So why not jewel substats it’s functionally the same.

Sometimes I feel like as if I’m the only person that maxes the jewel substats
So, is there anyone out there that also maxes their substats, even though it makes the entire process 10x longer?

Personally, I find it fun (albeit tedious) to get the reagents for jewel substats, it isn’t something you can just find on the auction house that easily (less high price, more people not putting it for auction in the first place), and I get more satisfaction when I finally complete that build, what’s your opinion about it?

Buddy, have you been tested for OCD before?

Jus u gng

My boy, the people who are the not max8ng their jewels are the people who are new to the game

the reason why i can’t be bothered to max out jewel substats is because getting luck iv/v and the proper reagents is too much of a pain for not enough reward

i only care about it if i need like more dot or more potency but even then you need to minmax so hard for 1 extra tick on plasma and potency requires tartarus tears which arent exactly easy to get

@Mr_hyperspace I think you may have something to say

Yeah it’s just way too much grinding for so little reward

What I do is do my jewelcrafting all at once when I am using Luck 5 for sealed chests. Have to wait for them to unload, so it is the perfect time to jewelcraft.

Hello it is I the ceo of modifier hate summoned here.

Allow me to explain why these 2 things are both entirely different, in the form of a rant that can and will act a cognitohazard lobotomizing both you, your parents, and your second cousin twice removed for daring to even suggest these two things are comparable.

First off, modifiers are significantly more impactful to a build than jewel stats. Unless you are running the meme theurgist “all my substats come from jewels” build the amount of emp you are getting from spending the effort to acquire your jewels is negligible. Compare this to modifiers, which in a ””””good”””” build typically make up around a fifth of the stats, these two things simply aren’t comparable. Especially considering modifiers parasitically force you to grind for better ones if you decide to use a build that could be improved by them, because the moment you start losing a fight the nagging thought of “I could be doing better” starts leeching any enjoyment you get from your build away from you. Meanwhile jewels at worst require you to sacrifice some of your 10 trillion cannon balls to sell and a couple reagents and gems to someone in the server with perfect jewel crafting.

Second point, the sheer cost of modifiers compared to any of the hundreds of legendary jewels the average player has from just wandering around alone dwarfs it on a scale of magnitude the pea sized brain that came up with this comparison could not comprehend with years worth of studies. Typically the average legendary jewel is worth exactly what it says on the tin plus around 50 galleons to sweeten to deal enough that the person decides to part with it on short notice. Meanwhile a modified item that significantly benefits a build in any way shape or form is on the same price scale as a fucking sunken item, despite the fact you’d be better off just using those in your build 90% of the time anyway.

In conclusion, the very notion that the grind of these two things is even remotely comparable is an insult to me, my friends, and every forumer of good standing. And you should be executed on the spot for even suggesting it.

(For legal reasons my lawyer has advised me to state that any threats and or insults included here are purely comedic and the only threat to you and your well-being is the soul sucking grind of modified items)

Good day.

jewel substats are for losers

i have 20% blocking power

i mean i kind of do (i have exactly 109 air capacity on one of my files, all other substats are an afterthought tbh)

I have 40% energy regen and have never understood why people don’t max jewel substats, like unless you’re a. going for an expensive as shit substat like blocking power (have you SEEN the pricetag on golden apples?) or b. broke (bro just do cargo runs it ain’t that difficult) then you have no excuse lol

You don’t need luck 4
I’ve gotten fairly consistent with 2.5% potency per 25 Tartarus tears
Honestly people are willing to sell them for 500 each

Good
That’s also what I do lol
And then my internet died the moment I got into combat with Maria so it counted as a combat log so my 445 items got wiped

yes, yes i have

I’m gonna be honest
Grinding for modifiers is far less fun (and takes a far shorter amount of time) than perfecting jewel substats

It’s more me getting pissed off at people’s ‘perfect’ builds not having perfect jewel substats which gradually grew into this post but no I haven’t
Why you ask?

Propaganda succesful, returning to hq.

I mean
Imma be honest hasn’t the price tag of Goldies dropped after resistance came out?
