they’re basically just a currency. Nobody wants them for vanity, they’re just super valuable because rare. Same way sunkens are valuable when only the chest is remotely good. They’re also a very stable currency, as stuff like luck potions can’t affect their rarity

Seasonals have demand which is why they are stable, and are thus consistently valuable. Just because you don’t see a reason to trade for the unobtainable vanity doesn’t mean the large majority of the community agrees.
WoM Seasonals literally decide the game’s economy. Its why its is almost universally agreed that seasonals are the most valuable.
