You must admit tho the playerbase is almost entirely made of long-time players. EBG almost never gets new players, and when it does, they quit pretty quickly.
WoM on the other hand can be expected to grow in playerbase as the game becomes more and more complete.

Vanished because they reached lvl 80 in a day and went off because bored. They’ll be back if more content appears.

I think WOM should have more interaction. More secret bosses, things not mentioned in the development notes. Otherwise people won’t be surprised when something crazy new shows up…

That’s cause they’re the guys who have been playing the game for ages. EBG occasionally jumps to 4k when an update appears, but rarely do those extra people stay.
And WoM is incomplete, while EBG has 1 dev working on it part-time.

Last I checked EBG has 1 dev working on it part-time.
When EBG updates it’s almost always a new element.
This means people join thinking oh I can get this element.
Then they realize it’s an element that they’ll only be able to get at level 150ish.
Oh and ah yes some new people do appear. I forgot about them feels like they don’t exist since most people I meet are like:
Me: “I wish WoM was more like elemental battlegrounds”
Them: “Hell no I hated that game”
