u know, the hot parts in sameria, i can see them being used in smart ways or interesting ways, rather than just being for the shake of it, that can be build upon it, but what is the reason for fall dmg, if he says that it wont be a big deal then why add it? if is gonna be a big deal then why make it so hard to work around it? it is just to be there with no other plans for it? like ima lose it if there is a cutscene where someone falls to their death and vetex goes “seeeee, that would make zero sense without fall dmg” like there arent stuff for gameplay reasons (like how in HK u can get ur shade back after u die and respawn, or fight a boss in the boss rush if u didnt meet said boss and said boss being the only expection) that make the game better
It’s because of realism
But that logic fails due to parrying it and 3x high jump should shatter our ankles
The idea of fall dmg in AO feels like to keep things grounded but AO just isn’t a grounded game hell flying is being added (unless this is a way to punish flying? But why add flying at that point?) it’s just. Odd cause as people said before AO does not seem created with fall dmg in mind.
thats just rude ![]()
Dude
same guy that needs tech to save any reputation that he can whenever vetex gets any criticism (he would throw a tantrum and act like ur an idiot the moment he gets criticism)
I don’t think it’s overall a bad feature (minus the dark seas implications and learning stuff like smash take falldmg) it’s a “why?” Feature.
look, asking questions is equal to being a crybaby to vetex
Yup, the most mature response possible, excellent play, vetex!
Surely there was nothing else that could be done, such as giving us a small showcase of the feature, or more specific numbers, to calm the fanbase down!
That’s fair though atleast on forums I’m surprised there hasn’t really been an out cry just people confused on why it’s a thing which I agree on.
Nope we’re rioting and we want to linch vetex, don’t you know? We’re absolutely bewildered and infuriated and we’re going on killing sprees due to this change.
I find it funny people were more upset over name changes then they are over fall dmg though maybe that’s not true ok the discord but I don’t really read what happens there
He does, but he also needs someone to tell him “no”.
I’d really like to know why Vetex decided to implement this. There’s no benefit to the player experience that I can think of, other than the “parrying fall damage” thing (which will probably get old pretty quickly).
Even without the numbers, it seems like an overall negative change for the player’s experience. It’s either a small inconvenience in some areas (where it won’t be lethal or it’s easy and not too time consuming to descend), or a large one in others (the Stepstones and overly tall Dark Sea islands come to mind). Outside of “realism” (when there is probably a decent way to get a lore explanation as to why it doesn’t exist, like subconsciously using magic energy to reinforce the body when nearing the ground), which has rarely helped the experience, there’s no reason to add it.
While I’m no tester and cannot have all the facts or first-hand experience, I feel like this change will likely harm the overall experience in-game. Doubly so in the Dark Sea.
Maybe if we knew what it was for, we might have a better idea of why it’s a good idea to him.
Dirt and tanning have been in the game for over a year, I’m not hopeful
We need to remind the gankers to shower.
It’s been said by testers it’s mostly not noticeable which I do believe though we haven’t been told how it feels in the dark seas but that brings it back to. Why? Like sure if it was overly intrusive it would be bad but being mostly unnoticeable makes it weird on why add it. I guess the step stones may feel more dangerous now? Falling off a sky island is lethal now which is whatever imo
