Yeah, if you want to avoid the grind, because you have a life to live beyond the screen - you can do that. If you are ready for the grind - you’ll reach your goals way faster.
Before, you could just as well do all yourself, you weren’t required to have a ton of rich friends, you’re weird by saying that.
I would have agreed here, since occasional fishing is how I stayed fed throughout my pre-FR gaming. But now, animals exist, and you’ll passively accumulate their meat, just by exploring islands. Meat solves this problem, therefore Fishing task is useless. And, even aside from meat, cooked fruits and mushrooms aren’t that bad, and you get a lot of them from chests. Not to mention, the earliest quests like those in Redwake, Frostmill and Palo, often award you food later on in a message.
I see Renown being awarded here as just Vetex thinking “Hm, you sink ships in this task. Sinking ships in game gives you renown, therefore the task should give it too” and not considering the consequences. Renown isn’t even the main point of the task - its resource and food gathering, the followers and the renown are just bonuses.
…while earning precious rewards in the form of dark sealed chests + some bonus loot from the enemies directly. Dark Sealeds are the main reward from the Dark Sea, and they are failing at being it, to the point that a simple fleet task can replace their grind.
Them being universal isn’t aimed to assist your other saves while forgetting the bank exists. Them being universal prevents you from repeating the grind to upgrade the fleet again on that new file.
