Well, yeah, I was specifically talking about them. They are the bait-unique fish
They donât contrib to fish collection tho?
People wanting to seperate and gut fleets are reinventing Clans/Guilds from first principles
no, only small, giant, arcane, and massive fish contribute to the fish journal
They do not. And even normal fish that you get from the task doesnât
I feel like fleets donât fit their place in this game as a form of autofarm or whatever
As much as any rich traders hate the fleet feature, it helps gathering resources a whole lot easier which is useful for endgame content such as the Dark Sea. Now by end game content, I donât mean anything like dark sealed chests or exotic scrolls since those doesnât qualify as good loot in the dark sea even before fleets were a thing, I mean actual challenge such as fighting monstrous atlanteans, dragons, omen, and many more that will be added in the future.
The point of fleets isnât just to ruin the economy of the game, itâs there to mass produce resources for any challenge where youâll need preparation. Itâs just that itâs a side effect considering Vetex doesnât add any form of separation for currency.
This really shouldnât be an issue. Before fleets, the idea of grinding for resources would literally deter most of the casual and pvp players that the game could have. Before, youâll need to have a ton of friends that are rich to be able to provide you useful resources such as potions if you ever want to engage in endgame content while being prepared which is in no way a good design, fleets basically outright solves this issue. Now I know what youâre gonna say, it takes effort to reach the max fleet content but hereâs the thing, youâre not required to max it out even as a casual player as youâll still gain resource in mass production which is really useful even for casual players. Thereâs no rush or a race to get to the max as youâll still equally gain mass resource regardless, thinking like it is just means you have the wrong mindset about fleets.
It is useless for those who have completed a lot of content in the game but this will shock you. This task is actually useful for casual players as they can use this so that they can focus more on what they want to do, no more going around waiting for food drops, buying low energy food ingredients, nor do they need to stop and fish while hoping they get a big catch. It is useless if youâre a player whose perspective is already biased by already reaching the current end of the game.
This probably wasnât the intended design of this task as itâs probably there to make it easier to have access to certain items in the renown shop. Though since Vetex literally didnât make any form of separation, this is admittedly a flaw. While that is the case, this actually makes it easier for top level pvp players to earn renown faster considering ever since the pvp toggle exists, almost half of the playerbase became inaccessible to be hunted for renown plus not to mention how the ranked pvp feature also took away most of the overworld pvp players.
It should be alright, the whole design of the Dark Sea isnât supposed to be for looting dark sealed chests/wilderness chests or to obtain exotic enchantment scrolls. The whole point of the Dark Sea is to be a challenging endgame content where youâre supposed to survive while fighting enemies with the difficulty slider being the range youâre in, the enemies themselves are the ones thatâs supposed to give valuable loot not something you can easily dodge and reflex towards as the enemies guarding it keep missing their hits on you.
I agree with this to be honest though at the same time banks exist. Thereâs no need for fleets to become a universal through all files when you can pass on the resources you get from it to other files using the bank feature.
The only way to do that is to make a separate item tag for resources obtained from fleets which canât be traded nor put on auction. This would of course make duplicate items but realistically it would solve the issue with the inflated economy. Instead of giving the player more drachma, it should also have some sort of treasury that players canât withdraw from similar to guilds/clans.
Anything fleet-able is dirt cheap, anything not, rose.
With exception of dark sea items since you get not that much of them.
Litteraly had afk for like a week straight to get enough tartarus tears for 10 fused gems of potency-energy.
I have a suggestion laying around in my docs that i know for a fact will never be introduced, where tasks are actually directly tied into the fleet system. Like, for example, exploring being the main way to upgradde your fleet, instead of it doing it automaticly (if you have fleet, check your command and vice ships, they have their own equipments), while other tasks actually could be used insteadd of basix 2 tasks 2 recovery.
It just lowkey need to take barely any strength and give more food.
Kind of.
As i state above, i afked conquest for a week, swapping 2 trading for 2 conquest by like, going to 1 mil drachma and switching when i drop to 200k.
You dont get npc drops, only the spawning items, so thereâs a case to be made to increase dark sea spawnrates of those items, or at least in far reaches.
Fleets were the first sign that Vetex doesnt want us to play multiple files, and now dragon blessings solidified that for me.
then why would allowing your fleet to fish fish with the special modifiers be a problem?
Yeah, if you want to avoid the grind, because you have a life to live beyond the screen - you can do that. If you are ready for the grind - youâll reach your goals way faster.
Before, you could just as well do all yourself, you werenât required to have a ton of rich friends, youâre weird by saying that.
I would have agreed here, since occasional fishing is how I stayed fed throughout my pre-FR gaming. But now, animals exist, and youâll passively accumulate their meat, just by exploring islands. Meat solves this problem, therefore Fishing task is useless. And, even aside from meat, cooked fruits and mushrooms arenât that bad, and you get a lot of them from chests. Not to mention, the earliest quests like those in Redwake, Frostmill and Palo, often award you food later on in a message.
I see Renown being awarded here as just Vetex thinking âHm, you sink ships in this task. Sinking ships in game gives you renown, therefore the task should give it tooâ and not considering the consequences. Renown isnât even the main point of the task - its resource and food gathering, the followers and the renown are just bonuses.
âŚwhile earning precious rewards in the form of dark sealed chests + some bonus loot from the enemies directly. Dark Sealeds are the main reward from the Dark Sea, and they are failing at being it, to the point that a simple fleet task can replace their grind.
Them being universal isnât aimed to assist your other saves while forgetting the bank exists. Them being universal prevents you from repeating the grind to upgrade the fleet again on that new file.
Oh wait, thatâs genius. Yeah, a great idea right there. Combined with my proposal of the fleets receiving their own currency and no longer awarding drachma, this could become a solution.
And this isnât how the game is meant to be played. Not good.
Eh⌠Nah, the tasks system is better left as is. With adjustments to the tasks themselves, ofc.
Agree, the jewel reagents should be made consistent in how hard it is to get a lot of them.
In what way? I donât undestand.
It wonât. But, why would you need that fish to begin with? What can you even do with it?
cooking into food
Sure, you are able to do that, and it may be good. Why would you choose Fishing over something like Harvesting, even with those fish types?
I NEED that Pierce Up and Size Up ![]()

Cooking into food or showing off. What else? Fleets are a complementary thing, not a requirement (story-wise anyway).
Youâre missing the point. Before fleets existed, as a casual player or a pvp-focused player you would literally need to have rich friends because again, why would you have to spend your spare time in grinding when you want to do other stuff thatâs more fun? Looks to me that you donât actually look into their perspective, Iâd like you to try and spend about only 2-3 hours in a new file in a day to simulate what itâs like being a casual or focusing on pvp file without the help from friends giving you stuff as you attempt to get better at pvp.
Youâre forgetting the fact that animals donât spawn immediately after being killed and how fish can be used to level up your cooking profession. Sure fruits and mushrooms exists which can be bought in shops but compared to doing fishing task, you get more ingredients all while progressing the task which ultimately levels up your fleet which is really important in this game. Again youâre looking at this in the perspective of someone whoâs already reached the current end of this game.
Renown IS the main point of the task alongside gaining followers and drachma, resource gathering is the bonus. Letâs not mix them up please as you probably didnât have patreon to have access to that information. Also is it really that much of a coincidence that this was planned alongside renown shops? Letâs give Vetex some bit a credit here since he do have the ability to make plans around important features, he isnât a dummy.
Itâs not the main reward of the Dark Sea theyâre the lootables of an island, youâre being biased just because you were so used to Dark Sea runs being just a loot island and dodge enemies idea. Again, if you actually be objective and look at the design that Vetex actually made and outright said in the past, the main content are the harsh enemies you fight and the main reward being the powerful drops you gain from defeating them. Just because the Dark Sea is lacking in content right now doesnât mean it makes dark sealed chests being the main reward of the Dark Sea.
But isnât the main point of leveling up your fleet is so that you can support your file by gaining resources faster? Thereâs really no point in making them universal since you can still equally obtain the resources from the file with the max fleet through banks and if anything, when people points this out then theyâll just say Vetex âwasted development timeâ considering the solution already exists in the game. If youâre a perfectionist despite having multiple files, that isnât a problem of the game, itâs a problem with the individual themselves.
Yeah this to be honest, people can still grind manually if they want to but just because you start to think youâre falling behind doesnât mean you should drag others to meet your idea of grinding.
Yeah so say you play 10 files, which is common actually, but lets reduce it to 3
You need to max fleet out on 3 files which takes like 100 hours at best, and thenâŚ
thenâŚ
you need to do darkness talent quest and kill empress of darkness 3 times for a tier 7 blessing on all 7 files, and unless you have a group of maxed out pvp chuds good luck with even getting one.
You can just pick up the Athena page to do it without ever touching Cazalâs evil ass once.
