wouldn’t you rather just want to know what they are, so you rather what a preview or smth, instead of them being in the game???
and how long will balancing take. its been half a year aince the game released, and theres still a clear meta that people abuse (the whole reason why pvp is hated)
also i know that i was just speaking as if i’m a casual but vitality builds would probably drive me up the wall considering that health regen is probably still as overpowered as it was, AND that there’d be even MORE health to deal with
way back in february my friend and i fought each other at sailor’s lodge and the regen coupled with the Big Motherfucking Building in the middle made the fight take SO LONG that once it was over it was enough for him to decide that the game’s player combat altogether is trash
well then what’s wrong with making it more unbalanced? everything will even out at the same time if we add spirit weapons during the chaos, why add new content when the game finally reaches a good equillibrium?
(also PvE players kind of don’t care rehehehe but ignore this point)
yeah imo in such a movement game as AO, i would hate having these long overdrawn fights with these fucking TANKS, that can maybe still do good enough damage because they have their own weapon system (otherwise literally no reason for spirit weapons to exist)
if we have a good balanced system, 5 new builds will not do much, as every other build is then balanced, and so you have much more of an easy frame to rely on.
that’s literally how balancing works, you need a good base ground you can base the other things around.
in shooters that is normally the assault rifle.
but what would we do in the situation where one of those builds ends up as the new “thermo warlord” and becomes very destabilizing?
maybe accidentally making other builds powerful in the process and messing everything up (if that makes sense)
again, as i said, that is one new build that’s added to an otherwise very balanced game, just don’t rebalance the already balanced stuff and only balance the new stuff around it.
I’ll just wait till this gets split to form my PvE and Vitality path/spirit wep perspective.

would it do better to add more builds to force balancing even more, or would it be better to fix the cause of why things need to be balanced.
because if they aren’t there’s so little incentive to even add them.
but again, building update will actually be much more of a good thing that will enhance/revive and already existing system. it will 100% make more pve players use clans. (tho imo an infamy rebalance or even rework might be needed for more incentive to get infamy, cuz rn the ship hands are TOOO expensive for like 2 stats )
would be much better than adding more problems to an already existing system
they are a literal core build path of the game.
we could apply this logic with any other route if that route couldn’t get in early access.
like would you say if strength has no incentive to add if strength couldn’t get in the game?
they are not a core build path for the game, them STILL not being in the game is literal proof. they could easily be canceled and we would be good

yeah, a path that is not finished but still in the game, remove that path and boohoo, nothing changed.
the vitality stat could still exist as a secondary thing or smth.
