spirit weapons are just strength weapons but for vitality

fight me

plus vetex would probably make like 2 of them this early on

mostly you want them

you’re angry about potions there, not vitality

bro is highlighting the most RANDOM things just to look like they have a point :sob:

also wrong. and entire build path wont just be new weapons

no because they are pretty fine, atleast from what i did play a little from the game.

i don’t like gems on armor tbh. could you get regen on armors with gems? forgor all the stuff you can then put on them.

Hey man it’s better than nothing :man_shrugging:

No health regen on jewels

i am completely wrong, but the desire for spirit weapons is basically equivalent to a desire for strength weapons

“ooh i want big stick to whack people with”

“but i wanna use big hammer”

Then add non-clan bank. Cuz it is not really funny when someone will follow you for half of the sea just to gank you and hope for you to come back with army of friends. By the way, why just not pick asses and just say when you wanna make a war and do you have the time for that, its would be more civil and funnier, plus you won’t be a paranoic which trying to grind without someone luring clan through ganking you.

But when you are not in a clan, you lose benefits given by bank or a teamwork.

honestly the only update I’d want before spirit weapons :sob:

yeah ok, still don’t like them as armor’s already had bonkers stats and such, and now it creates an even bigger gap between low and high level tbh. but oh well it’s maybe something i will survive

For the building update, I can understand why somebody would want that quicker. It’s meant to be a part of what makes Clans worth a damn, and it’ll actually give incentives to join the occult. However, the other updates that we know of could either fit Spirit Weapons with their release, could be pushed aside temporarily, or are Arcanium Weapons. I don’t believe building will incentivize friends making their own clan, primarily because going by the logic of most players not bothering to switch to Vitality builds, most friend groups who play AO are either not in one or are in one with a buddy of theirs. Additionally, building fortresses with clan spawn points seems kind of moot given that you can simply set up a Camp Marker for your spawn that probably won’t get destroyed. Except for those fancy Kingdom islands that your clan has to work its behind off for, it’s just a small reskin of what already exists.

Additionally, there’s the issue of Vitality Hybrids already being usable. Going for these builds can be considered a direct nerf (except Iron Juggernaut and Knight. Not sure why the latter at least feels cracked), since you’re limiting your Attack Size from repeated investments in your attacking stats, maximum Energy amount due to that also being based on Magic/Strength/Weapons, and especially your damage for optimally 400 extra points of HP. Yes, it’s extra health, but in the current metagame, that’s enough for, what, two extra attacks?

As a third point, I don’t exactly get the reasoning behind why “we don’t know anything” about Spirit Weapons. Yes, some weapons are more complex than others (Weapons could be understood by a 5-year-old, Strength Weapons just need two stats to work well, and then whatever Arcanium Weapons are supposed to be). From what we know (and likely Vetex, assuming that people are being honest when they say he forgot they are meant to exist), Spirit Weapons just eat your HP for attacks. Yes, you could bring up the question of if they’ll also require energy, but odds are it’ll start increasing the Energy stat with each investment as well.

The counterargument of balancing is logical, given that there’s always been a clear meta with every update. Bringing up a specific example here, but Pulsar was broken because there wasn’t much time, if any, to test it and weaken it. I think an easier way to avoid that would be to finish Spirit Weapons very early in a big update, such as the Nimbus Sea or Building, to allow enough time for the Testing Team to actively try them out, thus giving time for them to be properly balanced.

I believe the cause of why things need more balancing is a lack of time to properly test new combat mechanics or rebalanced ones. This seems to happen about days to a week before a major update releases, as balancing usually takes up a majority of a version’s patch notes here. Now I am fully aware that I’m no person to ask when it comes to a good amount of time to test a balancing patch before releasing it (so please, take this remark with a grain of salt), but I believe even an extra day of being able to test these changes would greatly benefit PvP. I’m also posting this text wall within 2 hours, so there’s bound to be critical flaws in my argument.

Overall, spirit weapons should not be pushed aside in favor of making large updates mostly dedicated to one feature. The Building Update, while being great for clans, only really affects them. The argument of friends making their own clans is made somewhat pointless by that already occuring in game (hell, I often see friends-only or private clans). Spirit Weapons themselves are an integral part of some of the currently-available builds, and choosing them is effectively nerfing you in most cases. Spirit Weapons’ perceived complexity can be considered rebuttal fodder, as the only truly-complex features planned for the game are Arcanium Weapons and the newly-conceived island relationships.

…god I need a shower, did I really type all that out? This wall of text is bigger than my brain.

i disagree, they shouldn’t just be weapons because 1. that’s boring, and 2. why wouldn’t they require weapon stat then?

I mean, if it is not possible to add non-clan banks and wars are funny, then why not become civil humans instead of impatient monkeys and just ask enemy when you wanna make a war. So its would be planned.

wtf bro cooked :eye: :eye: :fire:

guys i’m so sad i had a dream where i managed to join test universe but seletorch banned me :sob:

Maple reading that at the moment: Holy sh…!

I think this is the first time I’m actively hoping somebody brings up a good point and makes me pipe down, there’s gotta be SOMETHING critical that I missed in that.
