As I looked over the pool of darkness I held out an amulet, dark powers twisting and turning inside of it. I sighed debating on what I should do. The pool beckoned for the amulet and if I didn’t put it in, someone else would. I took some more time to walk around the room, my talons clacking on the ice cold metal surrounding the pool. I looked over the ruined structure lost deep into the darksea and the bones of long dead adventures. The Absorption curse hovered nearby, but it was not mine to take.
I decided to stop debating and just do. I grabbed the amulet and threw it into the pool of darkness, a shock of electricity zapping out as they combined. Quickly I jumped towards the creature forming ,before it had time to gain full strength, and tore out its core. The dark powers attacked me, but they had not gained enough strength to take over my mind, yet. The pain was immense, but I was happy I had stopped these events from completing quite yet.
When I came to, the core had fused into me.
Just in case, I’ve decided to write about these most recent events for whomever will find it. I fear I might never write as myself again.
