- Sock is right with the nihilist cipher
- The nihilist cipher traditionally has 2 keys, one shift in the alphabet/polybius square and one additional encryption layer.
- You have the right ciphertext. Do not treat each part as a separate piece, put it together then look at it another way. Don’t look at it head on.
- If you don’t make any more progress on Cipher 5 this week I’ll extend the deadline. However eventually I’m just going to stop doing this.

If you’re truly stuck then I’ll tell you this.
To get to the ciphertext of Cipher 4, you must join up the segments in the order which they appear in, then reverse the order of the whole piece. This was so you couldn’t use a cipher identifier on it.
The Nihilist cipher typically uses two keys. The first is to change the alphabet of the polybius square (All letters other than J in a 5x5 grid) and the second will generate a set of numbers to add onto the text in order to get your ciphertext.
I’ll give you the Polybius square in full,
It’s key was UNRECOGNISED, meaning the whole encryption alphabet comes out to UNRECOGISDABFHKLMPQTVWXYZ
In a polybius square this would be.

oh i see, is it that the letter corresponds to the user’s past curse? typ has w(illpower) and eium has t(hermo)
if this is the case then the letters marked with xxx are probably ones that just don’t have a curse and user
fla(re) would be c then for the cat curse, s is per(cival booth), h(yper burst) is das(h), v(elocity) is ban(ana), and so on

Methodology (How did you solve the puzzle): hexidecimal was just recognition, the three letters were the names of forumers, and the letter they corresponded to was a curse they used either in fc1 or fc2pa

Atlast, all the ciphers are complete q.q
also something interesting i want to point out, the number 302 has been showing up a lot since even fc2pa, where it was the number that taitc had when they lost to level in the brackets, and when it was one of the options to vote on for the polls
i know that it’s in chapters 4 and 5, but it might be in more, so it seems important somehow
So HTTP error 302 is an error / warning which shows when the resource you’re trying to access has been redirected or moved temporarily.
This can be interpreted as saying that FC will return at the same place / s or just that FC will return in the future.
