Forum Fitness Thread

I had this idea to start a fitness thread on the forums where people could share ideas or techniques and help each other to improve their physical fitness and give tips. I personally want to better my own fitness as I’ve been neglecting it for god knows how long and I hope this thread can not just help, but also inspire others to start improving themselves.
But yeah, if anyone has any tips or advice regarding working out or whatever then drop it down below.

Always do something active, every day. The more “break” days you have the harder it is to start back up again and get enjoyment from that activity, whether it be running, swimming, or anything else.

I’m gonna go to the gym today wish me luck

I need one person to push me to work out and skip meals. The dude who previously did that vanished. The spirit is weak as is the flesh.

Anyways

I basically make binding vows, mostly for grades. I vow that, if the grade is decent/better than expected, I do usually 100 sit ups and 15 push ups the same day. Otherwise, it doubles each day, unless 100 or 15 are done, in which case the amount is subtracted.

Why skip meals you can track your calories and eat whole meal and still gain or lose weight?

That lacks subtlety

Starvation is a form of self harm which is a form of self expression

I beg, any high-ish level volleyball player or general jumping athlete, what’s a good method to increase your vertical jump. Is it just plyometrics and explosive weight training (high weight and explosive reps,) or is there more nuance to it?

Understandable to an extent be careful that self harm doesn’t become your only expression

genetics (take this with a grain of salt)

Completely irrelevant to my question of ‘how do I increase my vert.’ Obviously genetics take a huge role in your limit, but what I’m asking is how I can reach my personal limit. I ain’t going D1 at 6’0 and only 2 years of experience, so I might as well just try to become the best player that I can personally achieve

try

Reminds me of one guy that did a surgery to be taller and it just looked weird since his limbs were disproportionately longer than his torso by a huge amount (literally Jack Hanma irl)

Wouldn’t call that a good solution. Putting a lot of strain on 3 joints per limb. Less likely to result in added height and more likely to result in dislocations and looking like slenderman.

Instead, try tying the lower ropes around the waist or pelvis, and the upper ropes around the chest, neck, or perhaps even a sort of a harness. This will instead stretch the spine, dividing the force across a lot more joints, generally making the stretch more even across the torso, and if something goes wrong, you’ll probably be too paraplegic or dead to care.

Anybody got any weight lifting tips?

Every time a forumer anons, I do one push-up.

Ok jokes aside yeaaaaa I probably ought to start being a bit more physically active lol

I will be observing this thread closely

Skip meals??? Who tf told you that was a good idea? Skipping meals inhibits growth on a whole nother level man.

You never know; you could be Lebron James for all I know

Not a fitness expert but as a beginner, I learned (nearly the hard way) that you should take it slow and steady when exercising, otherwise you might risk passing out from the lack of fresh air entering your body.

Mine is pretty inconsistent but I do go gym to help maintain my waistline and heart or work on my upper body
