Full Release Update Patch Notes (Discussion Thread) (Part 2)

I think that jewelcrafting may need a proper rework at some point with how big of an effect this, other mechanics, and sensing will have but that can come a fair bit later as more things are important. With there already being a 90% cost reduction it is kind of pointless feeling to have gems for it I’d imagine though.

Might write something up in suggestions when the time comes if I’m not working.

I really want to support Vetex but he just does not look at feedback before making changes does he? Well hope he will enjoy the flood of complaints and gameplay problems as a result of such a rushed idea. I made a suggestion that gathered community feedback and really went in depth on that as a change and many other potential solutions suggested by others and I. It’s one of the worst ideas discussed.

Anyways I’m very busy laying down concrete so apologies if I don’t reply to messages for several hours.

he’s still adding out of combat jewel effects that do the same thing as agility right now btw

I mean, yeah Agility was being removed regardless, we’re still complaining about it. Are we also complaining about Accuracy? Yes, but that stat isn’t in its final state, Agility is, and its not fixable.

And I haven’t seen much of a suggestion that isn’t overly complicated, yet workable for a replacement

Swimming speed was ā€œfixedā€ by disabling its effects in combat
Are we really going to act like agility is absolutely and hopelessly irrepairable?

why would you have a entire stat though that gets disabled in combat when you can just have it as jewel substats? gear stats are for combat, and making one that disables would make a ton of items in the game either completely useless or way weaker then it should be

Thats what Vetex did??? he just put it in jewels because it’d be wierd to have that as a main stat when its useless when doing any combat, PvP or PvE.

Idk if we are still talking about the hunger changes but I hope that Vetex makes it easy to get perfect cooking, since ATM it takes loads more xp to max cooking than it does for jewelcrafting and brewing. It doesn’t really make sense that it’s like that at all, so I’m hoping it’ll be changed

imo it’s fine as is considering you can bulk cook now and cooking ingredients are much easier to get then most brewing regeants and gems

Yeah but everyone who made agility sets for the actual purpose of the agility will nevertheless get fucked over

Thing is, such a change does require a heavy tutorial work. I don’t know what portion of the community that represents, but I know I used to use agility purely for mobility and not at all fleeing fights, though it was expensive to add to builds, at least it was somewhat intuitive. Now however, and call that a skill issue if you will, I think I found out about jewel stats like 15hours in my first save. Did I skip some dialogues ? Probably so, but I do believe that with a game that intends to gain size, having movement speed as a jewel stat will probably make many newcomers come to the conclusion that speed simply cannot be increased, which is a shame if that’s the playstyle they feel the most comfortable with

I believe I heard that climbing speed is being replaced for it, just save up for climbing speed reagents. Regardless, somebody would lose in the end, this is the lesser of the losses.

The gem tutorial is explained during the Sailor’s Lodge area, and its unskippable, you just forgot, a lot of others probably will too, and leveling up gems is kinda boring so most will have weaker gems unless they pay. At te very least, i believe the guide book is covering this feature, as it should have information about most crafting materials and such (hopefully).

oh right, I haven’t made a new slot in ages but I should’ve known that :,)

The ever so hidden :x: in the quest menu

Also should we talk about how much warriors are getting compared to weapon hybrids ? I’m legit so hyped for the skyhall weapons but like I’m not sure I can bear a weapon model if it doesn’t have fancy looking flames around it. On a more serious note I think that especially conj are gonna be completely overshadowed
