Finally, somebody figured it out!

I remember I would always die from simply high jumping at Ashen Volcano because my characters legs would slightly clip through the floor upon landing and I touch the lava part

Yeah, I would usually use a spell or block just before landing. That or I would try to land on one of the rocks

I think hazards should stop dealing percentage-based damage once you reach level 100 or have 1k hp.

Or hazards could do a small amount (like 0.5 or 1%) of max/base hp percentage(idk which would be better for this case) plus a fixed amount. This way hazards are more dangerous at a lower lvl while still doing a noticeable amount at a high lvl.

I actually really like how stuff like spikes n shit actually do realistic amounts of damage, like just because you can shoot a bomb out of your hands doesn’t mean you’re immune to getting shot
