theres like 3-4 versions of the hand to shoulders, its not that hard to remove them from the torso and by default the torso is already by itself

I guess it’s a good idea but i would prefer to make it an option.

Some people prefer the fingers and others might want the Robloxian 2.0 (even a mix of both included, although that would be pretty hard to find)

First, tackling why is there inconsistency. Many of the armors come directly from Roblox Packages and most of them have fingers. For the base model, the Robloxian 2.0 was chosen, which is fingerless. Some other packages are also used like the muscle, which has different kind of hands too.

Its not “an incredibly simple task” to swap out the fingers to Robloxian 2.0 hand, you’d have to remodel nearly every armor piece’s hand, retexture and somehow make it look good, which is much easier said than done.

If you truly cared about consistency, it would be easier to do it the other way round, and fully get rid of Robloxian 2.0 and have all fingers. But I doubt that’s what you want.

I will use leather armor as an example:

I added the base Robloxian 2.0 hand, which is way too big. and a scaled down version. Which results in the hand being way too short. You also loose a lot of detail in the set and each armor set hand would have to be retextured from the ground up.

Adding onto that, Vetex (or whoever would work on this) would have to remap UVs. Any other blender users would agree that UV mapping is already tedious if you want it to be good, but changing existing UVs and then retexturing the model is an actual nightmare.

Point is that it wouldnt look good with Robloxian 2.0 hands. It’s out of place because said hands weren’t made for armors. And vice versa, the armor hands (with fingers) have those because it allows the hands to have more detail you could otherwise not have.

Retexturing is not the main issue, but its a big one as well.
