"give ccs elysium" In retrospect

i’ll admit, i did say quite a few egotistical things during the span of that suggestion, but i’m actually quite surprised that very few people actually think me and other content creators should be able to use it
the current main game is incredibly bad for gathering large amounts of players for anything, from wars to fishing sessions because of all of the variables in planning something like that. The purpose of this topic isn’t to argue with anyone, it’s to understand why people hate the idea so much.

I don’t really think anyone hates the idea. It’s just not the purpose of Elysium. Most Testers and Moderators are perfectly open to working with content creators on this, regardless. Just gotta reach out.

My perspective is that it shouldn’t JUST be content creators who can use it. As some other forumer said who I forgot their name (show up here and reply to this if you read this), it is better to actually have it available for all.
Players can have it as a PS for practicing and/or as a PVP arena (1v1s, 2v2s, etc); it being a PS also gives you content creators the ability to organize events and whatnot.
Also there is the public version of Elysium that we’ll eventually have access to like your suggestion brings up.

I’m fine with this considering how fucking laggy the main game gets and munera ain’t cutting it no more

you’d be surprised
i’m not the kind of guy to want to dm every tester that’s online to open elysium for me, as it’s a little annoying tbh and i wouldn’t want that to happen to me

Looking at some of the replies, it’s easy to get that idea based on what people have said.

no in that suggestion people definitely hated the idea.
they weren’t able to give any good reasons why but they definitely hated it.

If I posted it 8 hours later it would’ve gone very different

for future reference, you gotta be way more careful with your word choice and phrasing.
good formatting and a clear straightforward message with 0 uncertainty goes a long way.

if you’re ever writing a suggestion and see something you aren’t 100% sure about, either rewrite it until you are or completely drop it.
9 times out of 10 THAT is the thing that will catch people’s attention as a massive unforgivable stain on the whole idea.

Though a private and fully accessible system for Elysium would hugely increase QoL, I think it should be compared to the Northwestern Open Sea, not to any ‘private server’ system.

It is mostly for official tournaments and events, nothing more.

please remind me what the difference is lol.

thanks

I thought you meant like a functional difference:
IE: bounty hunting/infamy being enabled in elysium.

Would like for it to allow players and clans to set up practice/training sessions respectively. So among players this would be having PVP matches against your friends, and potentially getting better or working your weaknesses out a bit against friend who is better at PVP. Clans could use this as a way to help out their recruits get better, or create their own unofficial tournaments.

Mostly want a PS aspect so I can use it to PVP with others I know. Work out kinks from builds and whatnot.

Dude we hop on elysium all the time for randos, your fine just dm us

I’ll give my new opinion after reading the whole thing:
People definitely thought you saw you as you think yourself as superior to others because you had some subscribers, as that’s how you presented yourself, and they definitely did not agree with you.

Your mentioning of a content creator exclusive title annoyed people. Because firstly, people did not think you deserved the title for how little you’ve done. Secondly, people saw it as you thought you deserved it because you are better than them. Now reading this might make you think, “how on earth are they getting to that conclusion,” but:

Honestly, I get you were probably getting irritated at this point. But being a content creator means most people probably won’t care unless you’re known by everyone, and I literally mean when people think of who is the main face of the game, it’s you.

again, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but people here do not care. Especially since you’re barely known compared to the others, and even more especially since you’ve already presented yourself as someone who thinks they’re superior to others.

To sum it up, you presented yourself as superior because of your subscribers and therefore deserve access to elysium. People did not like the fact you did this. The actual suggestion itself was sort of a 50/50 in terms of agreement and disagreement. You started backing up your point more with how much content creators do for the game, but the majority of people here do not care, only enraging them even more for thinking you deserve it.
You aren’t the face of the game, and to be honest if you were aiming to be the face of the game this might’ve ruined your odds because of how animosity lingers on the internet.

uh yeah thats it disagree with me if you want thats how i saw it.

I was representing all of the other ccs in the suggestion

Even more proof that the forums are just a loud minority

No …? It’s proof your subcribers are a minority, there’s way more than 131 people in the AO community.

And frankly AO being an RPG makes it perfectly able to live without youtubers, while games like Deepwoken have alot of youtubers that are I think important for the game, AO would do just fine without content creators, albeit a bit less 9 year olds.

You’re still a loud minority, even with it just being my subs
Even the fact that some of them said no should be enough proof, not all of them are glazers

I never mentioned any sort of bias.

I don’t really think the forum is a “minority”, sure we aren’t the whole playerbase but I think we represent it pretty well, since there’s every type of player here, there’s pvpers, there’s pvers, there’s grinders, there’s toxic people, there’s nice people, etc etc …
It’s not like in the balancecord were 90% of people are sweaty pvpers (including myself) the forum is a way more open place and more representative of the community due to every type of player being welcome (except absolute pricks).

It seems you’re confused as to what a minority even is
It literally just means a small part of a group
how you play AO is completely irrelevant to what the suggestion was
