None of my characters are godlike in power though 
(well, none of my AO related/descended characters…)
However, that all changed when Judas found a glowing cube when running away from the Magic Council.
Ignacio Ramirez was a lighting magic user when he left Dawn Island with no memory of what had happened prior. After meeting Morden and discovering that he had been tested upon by the Order of Aesir, he was disgusted with himself for abusing the power that he hadn’t even earned himself. And in order to achieve some sort of catharsis, he abandoned his lightning magic and picked up his dual swords, flintlock and staff, vowing to become better warrior himself and not from an external force with detestable intentions.
My other OC, Joseph Gavros also has a similar backstory, but instead of weapons he meets Caria and learns the way of the Sailor Fist, as well as picking up Cannon Fist from and old acquaintance Dennis Harvey. Another difference is that he joins the Grand Navy to stop any future cults/orders from abducting men, women and children and unethically testing on them.
