maria gives me more trouble than calvus because aimbot flintlocks are worse than giant aoes

My group definitely struggled a lot more on Calvus on our first playthrough than Elius but Calvus is pretty easy once you learn his attack pattern

nah, the hardest boss is obviously revon

imo it’s either calvus or maria because of how much hp and damage they have, the others bosses are alright if you know what you are doing

shura level ten can be a little difficult if you hit the campfire. Calvus at level 75 ish is much harder than maria because maria is at least level 121

Ye since the level locks were removed most ppl are very underleveled when it comes to fighting carina and calvus- on my new file I finished all the story up to awakening and I’m level 89 :open_mouth:

So I’m 30 levels below what I need to be in order to awaken (level 119)

am i the only one that died MULTIPLE TIMES to shura?

nah

Yes, skill issue.

using iris as a baseline ( 1/5 )

shura is the same situation as elius where you actually need to dodge/block, but shura is a lot more static than elius, 2/5

elius becomes a lot easier if you know how to time, block and parry, otherwise hes a b1tch, but still dealable, 2.5-3/5

argos and carina is weird cause sometimes they’re hard and sometimes they’re easy, i personally think you would find them easier if you have long-ranged fighting style, 3/5

calvus is the 3rd elius but you also have to deal with his 1k5 dmg attack if you fail to stop him ( which can be straight up impossible sometimes if he glitch out of the arena ), 4/5 ( could be 3.5 if you’re familiar with his pattern and have good internet )

maria is a joke as long as you stand on the deck and keep moving around, 2.5/5 ( 3 if you’re unlucky and keep getting shot )

i did on my first or second playthoughs yeah, just learn how to time your attack and block better

agree yeah, at least with calvus big a$$ attacks you can see them coming and block, maria gunshots is straight up a game of luck lol

there only exists 1 right now

stand in the bow, hold G and when she’s done attacking you use quick attacks with little startup/endlag that have fast projectile speed (musket shots will work)

If for the very first time, Calvus and Maria.
Overall, Maria and Elius.

Deron’s Brief Guide to Defeating Bosses Easily and Efficiently

Shura:
Be mobile- dodge and avoid his acid attacks. T jump and use magic blast when he’s on the ground.

Iris:
Same method as Shura. At this point in the game you should have more health so it will be easier than Shura.

Elius:
Block, parry, dodge his lightning attacks. Use ranged attacks to hit him when he’s in the air or perched on top of one of the stone pillars.

Argos:
Dodge, parry, block. Argos does not move around very much, so he’s fairly easy to defeat. Use ardent siren bow if you have one. Stay away from him on the opposite side of the room. Hit him with long-ranged attacks and placed explosions.

Carina:
Hit her with placed explosions and other long-ranged attacks (if you can aim well)

Calvus:
Calvus…is just tough. Use ardent siren bow if you have one. Otherwise, just block, parry, dodge, and be careful of his high-damage attacks.

Revon:
Don’t die

Maria:
Stay on the top deck of the ship and keep jumping around to dodge her gunshots. Hit her with placed explosions and ranged attacks. Keep in mind that she has an immunity phase where she cannot be damaged, so attacking in that time will not do anything.

And that’s about it! Hope y’all enjoyed, and have fun defeating Arcane Odyssey’s bosses!

Elius posses the unique hazard of having his fight on a sky island where one wrong dodge can send you aaaaallllll the way down to the sea.

Calvus is pretty difficult in all cases, though he can be learned.

Carina was never a threat. Either play at a distance or spam hard-hitting attacks point-blank.

Argos is like Carina but you can’t outspace him as easily and he has actual AOE and damage.

i dont see why you would bother mentioning an Ardent Siren Bow, especially as early as Argos, considering if this is to be considered for the levels your supposed to fight them with?
Quite literally impossible to have one when you fight Argos for the first time, and you would only have one at Calvus if you went out of your way to get one and knew about it.

just makes it easier

anyways making my own tips for each boss

Shura - Keep your distance, at the level you fight him at, he can very easily shred you at close range. (if you know what your doing, its very easy to just m1 him to death before he can do much though.)

Iris - This is where you need to start learning how to dodge and parry, as she has plenty of ranged options and can deal alot of damage very quickly.

Elius - A combination of Shura and Iris, you need to keep your distance, parry and dodge, and pay attention to which attack hes doing. His heal can be a little annoying if he spams it, but you shouldn’t have much trouble otherwise.

Argos - Really the only attack you really need to worry about in the first two phases is his slash spam and Piercing Gale, otherwise the rest of his attacks are easy. Phase three is where it starts getting hard, as his Piercing Gale gets faster, his slash spam is much stronger, and he gains a double flying slash thats hard to deal with. Parry and dodge, keep your distance.

Carina - literally the easiest boss ingame if you lose to her you just suck lmao

Calvus - Phase one is where you learn how his attacks work, they all get empowered in phase two so pay attention. If he starts charging his pillar, hit him ASAP or your dead. When he leaps at you after his barrage, try to bait him by dashing right as he does (sometimes he’ll fly in the completely wrong direction) as its not worth it to try to parry due to how fast and how much damage it deals.

Revon - Pray for your life.

Maria - Stay on the top deck as much as possible, but make sure not to stay up there for too long as if she doesn’t have line of sight for long enough she’ll reset and get all her HP back. Get to the back or front of the ship during the tentacle attack, and if your good enough her Piercing Shot is easy to parry.

It’s tough between Calvus and Maria. But Maria seems like she’s balanced for people who have full optimal sets with perfect gems and T2 enchants. If you’re going in on a new file, Maria is probably harder because it’s like the game expects you’ve already grinded. Same could be said about Calvus to an extent but having actual skill makes Calvus a lot easier. There is no skill in the Maria fight.
