For those that don’t know, a new Roblox game recently released called “The Forge” and it hit top trending very quickly, I played it for a bit and think its a decent game if you’re looking for something to grind and in my few hours of playing didn’t come across a single bug which honestly surprised me. If any of you have played it, what do you think?
its eh and serves decently as a timekiller, the text is either written by ai or someone with bad english because (i was gonna say dialogue) but all of it is just written weirdly
i didnt really notice it tbh but yeah it was a good way to kill a few hours
Grind gets tedious too fast, the whole forge building mechanic is designed to waste time if you don’t have the gamepass
It’s better then slop, but it’s essentially still glorified slop. Either way it’s better then most games out there
its different but i was hoping for a non simulator slop game. combat seems fun at first until you realise most npc’s moves arent readable so you cant parry in time
build your own equipment is cool ill give it that at least
the building your own gear is cool in concept but it sucks because of it being fully tied in rng
i remember there was an rpg called lost souls in roblox where you could make your own weapon and armor out of ores which is similar to this game but honestly way better
the weapons would have three parts; handle, guard and blade
each ore had a unique effect which meant you could create unique combos with a weapon
too bad it got abandoned or something
I played the prerelease demo and it was more or less a glorified bandit beater with extra steps
you mean The Forge and The Crucible? ![]()
Wrong, it’s a glorified sol’s rng mixed with a sloppy bandit beater, inconsistent art styles, and the most amount of missing vital mechanics I’ve seen in a game, the worst part being that the forging process makes no sense at all.
It’s clear with that their objective wasn’t making a game about forging, but a “game” that would rake in massive profits.
“Passion project” and “Dream game” my ass, they must have had a crazy budget to afford such successfully deceitful marketing, they even went out of their way to employ bots in order to increase their advertisement’s reach.
I’m too busy playing Grace again
is Grace similar to doors?
Yes, but fast
Don’t get me wrong, I agree with most of what you said, but it honestly isn’t too bad compared to the rest of the things on roblox. I could see the game getting better. For example, they’re apparently adding a way to get race rerolls for free, which isn’t something I’d see entirely money-hungry devs do. But yeah, it’s definitely got its fair share of issues, and it is a glorified RNG game atm.
That’s their opinion tho
like whatchu mean WRONG?
i liked gambling for races like a dumbass but i had my fill past level 10 and the first world. going further seems unnecessary, its kinda just more of the same and minmaxing rng
For a moment, I thought this was talking about the actually good game, Forged.
Was disappointed at how limited the forging process actually was, also why the hell is what you create dependent on rng?
yeah, it has some cool ideas, but the devs decided to turn it into rng slop :<
the gameplay loop is a neat idea, you go into a dungeon-ish cave, mine ores and kill enemies, return to the forge to forge better gear to get further into the cave. but all those stupid rng aspects just make it frustrating.
why do I need to know the rarity of the ore when I pick it up? just put that into the little logbook thingy.
WHY IS THE FORGING RANDOM? that’s such a fucking stupid feature. I wanted to make more armour because I was slightly struggling against some higher level enemies (which I wasn’t really supposed to fight yet anyway) and I decided to get some rarer ores to make a good armour piece. AND OF COURSE IT GIVES ME A PIECE I ALREADY HAVE and it’s worse too.
there’s probably more dumb rng stuff like the upgrading but I quit before I even got to that point.
just don’t play this game[1], it’s a waste of time.
at least it is a game unlike true RNG “”“games”“” ↩︎
Yeah the upgrading system only has a chance at succeeding at higher upgrades
does it also destroy the item like how it works in rpg games with a similar upgrade system, or did the devs do the bare minimum in terms of using their brain this time?
this game looks really good but i did not get past the customization because i realized i would have to play DnD with random people and i cant roll like that anymore
