Has anyone played The Forge yet?

No I think it just resets it back to 0 upgrades if it fails

All good. I got into it because some of my friends suggested it, and LotA III was stressing me out with how everything was constantly moving forwards.

i love rng and mining games i give this slop10/19

kinda boring

no, it just downgrades 1 level if it fails

u see, the rolls are the best part. Rolled 2 Nat 20 on con, making my dude survived a minotaur encounter unscathed

noo i love d20 but i meant i would struggle with playing with random people alot

yeah they could of done the grind a bit different, also the enemy attacks follow a pattern so its not that hard to parry them (unfortunately every enemy has the same pattern which is lame, its always 1 attack then a follow up then theyll get stunned, and after they’re stunned the pattern resets)

yeah i don’t like that part of forging, you gotta roll a percent to get a weapon type and then another percent to get the actual weapon, i can only imagine how bad it is endgame to try to get a minmaxed weapon and god forbid you get a single great on hammering it

yeah world 1 was fun but world 2 didnt quite hit the mark and is where i eventually stopped playing

Decided to look at it and saw a lot of anime games in the recommendations. I don’t think I’ll be playing it

yeah i remember trying to forge some leggings with a sigh 67% chance, and it took me 4 tries before it finally made leggings :sob:

they really should change that and just have the tiers rather than the weapons from the tiers

was that.. 460 damage with 80 damage fire tick.. :sob:

yes.

206 damage base

+30ish% damage from eye ore on weapon and armors

+50% crit damage and another +14% i think from crit damage bonus on runes

btw i have like a 48% crit chance from achievement + rivalite

idek what im looking at, i had an uchigatana that did 10 damage and was made of bananite :sob:

upper tier ores have passives

u gotta learn how to minmax those passives

(My opinion)

My Likes

I love mining/factory based games which is why I got pretty attached to the game and is probably my most favorite type of RNG based game even with the added bonuses of crafting. There isn’t much to say here since the gameplay loop is simple and the game just released so there is yet for things to be added such as bosses, PvP (got no idea how that works), less RNG systems, etc.

Ores
I like the idea that the better the ore quality, the better buffs you get and the different passives it gives and its not outright an increase in health/damage stat. (RNG I do hate how far it goes but hopefully in the future, luck stat can greatly handle this)

My Dislikes (Will most likely be changed)

Races
but what I dislike most about the game is the race feature which can deadly effect your gameplay, even considering demon/angels are 1/200 (1/100 for specific race) and they can absolutely carry how you play the game. Demons allow you to kill any enemy (and people who use this complain about enemies being to easy) and angel having a large 30% luck which luck in this game is very important for getting high-rarity ores. You can race roll but it requires robux/codes (there will be other ways to get rerolls but overall I dislike how races were implemented in this game and how much is carries you. At least there are slots to interchange between them). Or in general I just dislike any game that requires you to gamble for a race when it can effect gameplay and your style similar to how deepwoken requires you to have felinor to minmax trackstar builds.

Forging System
The forging system is a nice idea but very bad execution. The way they did it is that depending on the amount of ores you put in, the “heavier” the item will be (Daggers → great swords, Light → Heavy). However, when you try to forge items there will also be chance you get a weapon/armour below the one you’re wanting to get. An example is Katana. I tried to get katana with high chance ores and the chance of getting a katana in forge is 67% as its max percentage but then gauntlets are a 33% which stays like that. Meaning you have a 2/3 chance to literally fail forge and waste materials on the gauntlet and not the katana. Katana uses more materials than the gauntlets btw.

What I’m mixed about (Most likely will be changed)

Economy/Grind
When you get to higher levels, everything starts to become more and more expensive. I spend 2 hours grinding for a singular pickaxe and then another 2 hours trying to grind for 3 luck runes and putting them on a pickaxe called “Arcane Pickaxe” which allows you to equip 3 runes. Runes are like passive buffs that you can give to pickaxes/weapons/armour. However depending on the quality of said item the more it’ll cost to apply said rune to that said item. Arcane pickaxe costs 125,000 and costs an extra 37,000 (rounded) to apply a rune. Each round from cave and back only gives you around 5,000 each if you’re grinding in the best area so you have to grind a lot to get what you want (Considering the fact runes are also RNG based as in you may have a luck rune that gives 15% luck but another that gives 11% luck). I’ve done very grindy games before like craftwars-genre and I’m still mixed about them but something about them makes it fun for me at least.

Weirdly Fast Paced/Unnecessary difficult Enemies
I’m all open for PvE based grind games but most of these enemies or any enemies have really janky/strange systems that makes it hard for the average player to fight against them, I didn’t have a problem with them since I learned how to actually counter the strongest enemies like reaper but fighting them for the first time is extremely annoying. Reapers have heavy-weapon capabilities and are able to swing very fast as WELL as parrying your own swings and hitting you instantly as well as applying DoT. Each swing can shred your health unless you’re suited with good/high quality ores that are up in the 1/700+ chances. Slimes are able to instantly apply knockdown which stuns you or something like that so you cant do anything and smaller enemies are far too fast. It’s really hard to fight against two enemies teaming up on you and sometimes you can get near stunlocked depending on the situation. (They also have really weird/janky hitboxes depending on servers ping)

Monetization

you probably know why Im mixed about this, gamepasses that are able to significantly reduce gameplay time and be a huge QoL

Honestly, this game will most likely get better later on as the game just released, if theres something I know is that most games usually have a really bad start but over-time it’ll start to grow so I’d say let the game do its updates and then play when RNG has lessened

The game is pretty dry once you get to a certain stage

rex:reincarnated is better btw

Mmm… I feel like that’s opposite to how these games usually run.

Usually it goes like this for me

→ game releases in a bad state
→ starts to get good
→ falls off few months/weeks later and becomes bad

I shoulda included tat

Im just coping it survives and becomes better game cuz again I love mining games but theres like non on roblox or most of them died out (or follow an exact same pattern as other mining games which is just mining out blocks like minecraft until you reach the earths core)

got on for the second time today to just mess around, ended up getting angel race off a code reroll so it gave me a bit more motivation

did a few quests made much better armor and currently trying to make a better weapon (but with only a cobalt pickaxe there isnt much i can really do), debating whether i should save for arcane or go ahead and buy mithril since i still have rowan and moro quests left which upon completing could grant me enough to skip straight to arcane, which is the best pickaxe

game is an okay time killer nothing too crazy, one thing i dislike is how much of a jump the enemies get (elite skeleton rogues can 3 shot me whereas their non-elite counterparts do zero damage to me and i can outheal them by being afk) and i also dislike how it feels every enemy has the same amount of posture, making elite rogues one of the hardest enemies besides reapers which are just a stat check for most players
