Hecate essence is extremely hard to find

I just want to rant about the Hecate essence. I like most parts about this game. With the Auction, almost nothing is too hard to get, because you can just sell stuff and work your way up to buying an item. I want there to be a magic-changing item. Sure, you can keep the Hecate essence in the game, but I want an item that changes our magic. Perhaps it could be found in treasure chests in the dark sea, or found from dark sealed chests. A rare chance of it being found, of course. Having it be an item gives players the opportunity of working their way up to buying a magic change, like the Acrimony.

And we’re not supposed to change our magic? So if we pick a bad magic, we’re just supposed to go fuck ourselves?

And yes, I know you can switch to a build that doesn’t use magic, but what if you really wanted to use magic? What if I wanted to be a conjurer, but couldn’t switch my magic from Metal?

Couldn’t have imagined what it was like before magic changing was a thing. People could have had files with hundreds of hours, but they were cursed with having a bad magic on it.

The reason why I’m the 9,000th hecate complaint post is because it’s a terrible way of introducing a feature. Having a very useful and necessary feature being gatekept by having to spend hours upon hours every day just to have a small chance of changing your magic is just straight up bad game design.

At least for Prometheus’s Acrimony, you can slowly work your way up to buying it on the market. That is good game design. That way you can do things while trying to earn money to buy a stat reset, or if you’re really lucky, you can get it yourself.

Yeah, that’s the unfortunate part of this. Making a mechanic hard does not make it fun.

It was never fun to begin with and he likes it that way. In fact this mechanic should not exist because he is very adamant that our magic is unchangeable. This only exist because we suggested it for so many times and he has every right to make this mechanic as ballbustingly hard as possible

This mechanic should have always existed. We should have more customization over our characters. He can be adamant about our magic being unchangable, but it doesn’t mean we’ll ever shut up about it.

I am thankful that the mechanic does exist, but really, it should be easier to customize our characters without having to make a new file.

I found the perfect solution! Thanks “holyfication” on discord for giving me this idea.
The ability to put Hecate Essence into bottles!
Not only would this give an opportunity for people to make money, this also makes an opportunity for people to buy magic changes without having to go through all of the effort.
All this, while still keeping the rarity of Hecate Essence.
It’s perfect! Now time to post this as a suggestion when I become a Suggestor.

There’s one major detail missing from this, the hecate as of now is insanely broken in many ways

1. you cannot see it over long distances
2. every island in that range is the size of othrys
3. it can spawn inside of walls and other objects

It’s not really a great idea to try looking for it before fixes from full release come

Hecate Essence Rant and a Call for Answers Regarding it

Hecate Essence was added two, nearly three months ago. When it has released and now, it has been found exclusively found in the far reaches at a 1/12 chance to generate on an island. It has a very small render range and is surrounded by enemies 4-5 times our level in the rare chance you find it, as the 1/12 is the chance it spawns in a single location on a typically unbelievably large island. It’s unironically way more effective to make a new file to change your magic and then transfer all of the items

I would do that, if it weren’t for the fact that my main file has my guild, along with a lot of badges. And also it’s a pain to transfer items. I would rather find hecate than transfer my progress.

we sort of got confirmation from a tester that there are plans to change the hecate essence hunting process

There are other plans for essence hunting as well but none of them are public. Like there’s a lot of stuff I can’t say about this topic that’s why I have to make vague gestures

honestly just be happy you can change your magic ts wasnt ever going to be a thing in the first place until everyone was bitching about it

then he made it rare because you arent supposed to get it in the first place
and everyone bitched about it

then he added a way to buy it with money so you dont have to grind for it (reminder: this never was supposed to exist in the first place)
