Hecate essence is extremely hard to find

mfw when hasta

pulsar blast and barrage and cannon

lowkey self explosion snare or even blast do fine in cqc and now it’s getting nebula

mage doesnt even want to chase anyway

also were just ignoring relfexes now are we…

everybody has dodge reflex, and those do take a bit of stamina; SWalk/SStep/Crash don’t. It’ll probably be quite hard to move with mage. Hasta also has an endlag, which makes it slower than the other moves, it might be hard for mage to actually run from people.

and its not like its going to have ground breaking range this update. Weapons basically gets beam and explosion, same for spirit; they already had Blast equivalents and variants; its only out-ranging Strength now.

As for Nebula, it looks too small (unless they were running 0 size) to effectively hit the more threatening cqc options, which all have more than enough range to stop threats. Self explosion and snare are a good argument, but Bteam did say cooldowns were getting increased, and to just have two cqc skill likely wont allow them to run out from any of the other builds; and snare has some buggy hitboxes at times, and pretty small range at others.

Naturally it’ll have its ranged moves, and its pretty easy to hit Blast/Cannon/Pulsar at those ranges, but I’m pretty sure they’ll take a hefty chunk of health before they can counter, and again, its not like they can run easily.

I do agree with what you said though, classes are going to be pretty equal once this update hits. I don’t think there is much reason to limit how mage can switch magics, but whatever, there are some buffs, its better than before (hopefully). I’m just not sure how fun it’ll be as the dark sea gets updated and it becomes harder to get to I3+ for the essence…

or change hecate essence into an item

if only the hecate essence bug fixes were actually in the main game, but instead we have been waiting over a year for it to even happen, let alone be implemented and work properly.

yeah but if two people are both 10m away, and then both reflex they’ll be at the same distance which is favorable for mage. for me at least i tend to use my reflex before i crash (or ig talykyrousa in this case) since you want to be close as possible before clicking crash. so mages who tend to use their reflex after their blast general will still have it.

nebula will prevent any tideband/fs users from getting TOO close and snare and self explosions will make sure you can trade damage effectively (i dont actually see anything on the trello about increasing cds it would even make sense for explosion). for running mage might be cooked but general positioning it’ll be fine

all the current classes we have will be balanced, although spirit weapons need to be toned down by the bteam before they get into the main game

add calvus teleport skill for mage

a single instance of SpiritWalk/SwordStep has about the same range as Dodge reflex; they can use that thrice. Walk1 → reflex → Walk2 → leap (if needed) → Walk3 is more than definitely faster and can go further than a single dodge.

also Nebula doesn’t reduce damage, TideCrash has a large impact range than Nebula deflects, same for any size fightning style or weapon.

I’m not saying mage will be unplayable, like I’d consider most classes decently balanced right now; but its going to feel way harder than the other classes,

bro did you see nebula
tidecrash is literally not THAT big it looks like a reskin of crash, mages will still be a tier maybe worse than the new spirit builds, also with the Walk1 → reflex → Walk2 → leap (if needed) → Walk3 combo seems like itll take alot long than you think it will, it’ll be good for closing distance for sure but ground dashing at that point seems like it’ll be fine for movement esp if your oppoenents gonna spend 6s doing allat

do you have patreon and/or have seen the OracleVSWarrior clip?

I feel like that’ll answer most of the question on why you don’t know how absurd spiritwalk/swordstep are.

maybe i dont know the full scope :person_shrugging:

oh…

yeah when you actually see that move being used its ludicrous, very fast. Its only shown slow so you can see the motion it has, but its very fast.

also hammers now have slow, and Vindicator is pretty good with Sky Breaker (pretty much beam)

Dude. Vetex stated multiple times that we were NEVER (Keyword: NEVER) supposed to be able to change our magics. The only reason Hecate even exists as an option is because of the incessant complaining. The process is purposely shit. It’s supposed to be difficult.

So I don’t really get your point here. Yes, it’s more efficient to create a new file than grind essence, because essence was NEVER MEANT TO BE GRINDABLE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

This argument is dogshit. If you’re gonna talk down like this then atleast actually make logical points that stand up to literally any amount of scrutiny.
Not: “Vetex added bad game design to his game intentionally therefore its good game design”

When did I ever talk down…? I never implied it was good game design either. The point is this feature was never even meant to exist. What Vetex does with it doesn’t even matter, just be glad that all your complaining has given you the option to change magics, despite how difficult it might be.

Though I am curious, what part of Hecate do you see as bad game design? How would you change it?

Also dogshit.
No, I’m not going to be satisfied that a feature that should have been ingame on release and had been held off of the community for over a year after release was added intentionally to be as miserable as possible (vetex’s own words).

The part where its literally designed to be bad and you obviously know it is given that you literally just said it.
Almost every single part of how it was implemented is actively anti-player.

There’s a reason people are pissed about it.

I am too tired right now to pretend to have any respect or patience for the arguments you’re rehashing for the billionth time.
Every single word you’ve said I’ve gone through no less then thrice trying to get this nonsense changed.

I’ll give you the same challenge I’ve given a billion other people:
Explain the necessity for the class disparity. Your reason must be rooted solely in gameplay.

Tbh hecate isn’t that hard to find if you know it’s spawning mechanic, bugs and what islands it can even spawn on

I’ve found 23 total hecates and my friend got his 70th yesterday

I get it’s hard at first because I literally had to spend like 13 total hours for my first hecate only for it to be bugged so I had to get a restore but I had no idea how it functioned

Do you have a concrete strategy to find it? Like, what will yield the quickest result?

I do have a strategy but it’s a bit complicated

Maybe I should make a guide

Do I make a guide
