"actually you gotta wait 3 more years to obtain it the correct way because you’re not supposed to get it as of now! "
this might be the worst fucking take on this entire thread
its not immersion, its the most tedious unfun gameplay imaginable all just to be able to play the game in a way youd prefer
No, “it’ll get better the future” isnt an excuse (you know “the future” means 2-3 years from now)
No, its not just the fog or whatever shit you wanna say it is, even if it would improve it
this is a horrid take game design wise
RPG games have heavy story elements but it does not come at the cost of gameplay
I played Final Fantasy XVI earlier this year and it’s probably the most fun ive had with a game all year. It’s story and lore were genuinely gorgeous to the point I still think about it often, and guess what…? It’s gameplay is equally incredible too
ive not played most Final Fantasy games but from what ive heard this goes for a lot of them
The Witcher 3 has really fun gameplay too, and it’s lore and story (albeit based off a pre-existing book series) are also great
but the big point is
lore and gameplay are NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE. Lore can compliment gameplay and vice versa, they can build off eachother, they can IMPROVE EACHOTHER
this way of thinking is bullshit and its only value is as an excuse for bad game design
Fromsoftware games are another incredible example of this
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
When did I even say I didn’t like immersion?
I just said immersion (lore) shouldn’t be prioritized over gameplay, not that it shouldn’t exist.
Generation issue, vetex could code in detection to fix that.
I never got this, I’m going to suggest a reverse Armored Core-esque lock on system.
It won’t be hard lock, it’ll direct your camera to the person you’ve locked onto and give you a free mouse to aim with. Then we can jack speeds up again since losing track of someone becomes less of an issue (unless we add a tracking/awareness mechanic that scales with a substat or something; gotta flesh it out).
yeah right, he could! but he won’t do that!!
yeah buddy you got this i really like your idea
People loved WoM, and it did exactly that. All immersion, no gameplay.
People disliked WoM tf you mean?
Well, you and I sure disliked it, but some people loved it.
Every game has fans except Concord.
You disliked wom? Worst take yet
I only ever played WoM 2, but I thought it was a bit boring.
better ships means less downtime between searching islands and more strength against atlantean ships
for gear stats agility lets you get around more quickly, and general gear gives you a better chance against atlanteans (don’t have to worry about getting one shot about that range)
ur crazy if ur not using a max speed brig to search for hecate
yeah let’s hope the bteam doesn’t go crazy and guts it totally or vetex just removes it entirely from the game
i don’t think you understand what i’m saying, your replies don’t really respond
i get it, you’re trying to say that if we get better ships we’ll withstand atlanteans with more ease and get to islands faster, but I think you don’t notice that literally anyone going for hecate has at least 130+ speed and can easily outspeed the atlantean ships and that the problem is not getting to islands or i3 faster but finding islands and hecate itself.
And as I said b4, agility will seemingly get gutted next upd
But I thought next update doesn’t count because it’s forever away
we’re talking about things in the future like better gear and ships, so of course it’s forever away
also sensing being added and the level cap going up to like level 400 lol.
people like it despite the frankly bad gameplay
that is not valid reasoning here, and its not valid reasoning for games to accept having bad gameplay in any form
I know, I’m just referencing you guys saying that sensing won’t fix anything because it’s forever away. If sensing actually does sense essence it will fix the “well I need agility to find essences” issue
