And if the fix comes it’ll be next update and not as a patch anyways. So you don’t really have a choice in the matter. What is your solution anyways?
the solution is vetex changes a number in 2 seconds and releases it to the live game
he could also increase its render distance or otherwise give some indicator that its on an island.
he could also make it spawn in a special structure on island peaks to get rid of most potential generation issues.
he could also make far reaches islands less obscenely big.
he could also reduce the size of the ranges so travel to the far reaches doesn’t take so long.
these are all things he is fully capable of doing.
Render is valid but the indicator can be handled with sensing. I’m going to be adamant about it since gameplay features should interact, and sensing should have uses like this. Just give sensing a good range and we’re good; Hecate essence is the essence of a god so it should be detectable from a good distance.
Eh… I mean, I guess, but show me some examples of it having generation issues though. I want to see if this is genuinely bad or just a problem now because of our limited options.

Although Vetex could stand to add a few smaller islands that spawn, not sure if they do, never went to the Far Reaches (I don’t have the time or patience), but if they don’t then they, logically speaking, probably could appear in the Far Reaches albeit in uncommon quantities (not at all appearing in insanity 4).
Vetex already reduced them once, I don’t think they’ll do it again. I used to think the Far Reaches is a bit too far away, but then I also realized I need to consider the intended level. So I’ll reserve judgement until we see the legendary ship parts, higher level ship parts, and enchants we may have by then. If it’s still longer than 20 minutes by level 400 then it definitely could use a slight tweak. Don’t bother arguing about now, that doesn’t matter since we aren’t supposed to be there anyways. Hopefully we get some legendary ships in Full Release so we can get an idea.

I agree with you, sensing is 100% a way to do this, but we can’t work with a system that doesn’t exist.
Its not terrible but in the first day of the update I did see a purple thing while I was clipping my camera into a wall that I only later realized was probably an essence.
So yes, I am going to be very very adamant on preventing generation errors.

I’ma be real with you: nothing justifies the dark sea being so big that I’m starting to see floating point errors in the far reaches.
i think rarity makes sense in the context of the scale of the full planned game (we’re comparatively at a very early part). it’ll naturally get easier with faster ships and better gear in the future. being rarer gives it more value, which (game design-wise) yields a greater reward for a more harrowing task.
that said, that’s under the context of the full game, which we’re not really near. hecate’s essence is in an awkward spot since being able to change base magic should be available, but should still be difficult to parallel the implied value of changing stats - though that’s solely based on luck.
should there be a “lore” option to change stat build in the future, then it’d make sense to parallel with a “simple” option to change base magic now and implement the “lore” option (hecate’s essence) when more of the game is completed.
it’s the right idea but the wrong time. if i were developing the game, as a bandaid fix for the moment, i’d just have another reagent for changing base magic to parallel with prometheus’ acrimony until more of the game is fleshed out, then implement hecate’s essence and, should there be a “lore” stat change, that feature as well.
Yeah and none of the changes you’re requesting will happen until Full Release anyways. You’re not getting a hotfix, so might as well expect it to be later than sooner with how Vetex is.

I have a suggestion I’m working on that’ll add Dark Sea artifacts, maybe I can, for an artifact, add something to boost climbing and traversing on land. We’ll see though.

no, the thing I’m referring to is that, in roblox, when you get so far away from the center of the map, textures start bugging out and becoming unstable.

Like even when we’re supposed to be there and can reliably traverse it, how on EARTH are you going to transport dark sealed chests in a reasonable amount of time when you need to carry two across the whole of Sameria twice to get to your ship once.

they should add an ability to “mark” dark sealed chests on an island and then they’ll all go to your ship at once, with a notification like “Your crew has hauled this island’s treasures to your ship”

One solution could be to replace the Far Reaches dark sealed chests with unique variant of dark sealed chests (unique to Far Reaches; few in number too), and the majority of the would be dark sealed chests with some special dark chests with dark sealed chest loot. So you’d carry these two Far Reaches sealed chests, and just open up the rest like regular chests.

There’s also the issue that alot of people seem to be ignoring that, for the far reaches, by the time we’re supposed to be there, then I’d say atleast two years will have passed from this discussion.
The dark sea is split into 5 ranges each getting much more difficult and meant for a later stage of the game, going into the 4th realistically should mean that the game is about 80% completed.
2 years’ too early, let’s make it 3 at minimum for vetex
