I’m fairly sure that mechanic doesn’t apply to atlanteans anymore given that I’ve been attacking them through walls for a while now.
Randomly some walls will just decide to be invulnerable and you can get waterpoisioning mid fight with an atlantean, so it’s not a super consistent solution

you’re told all the fundamentals about the magic, even if you have no understanding of the game, the words “damage”, “size” and “speed” are nothing new
this is true, but it isn’t really a blind choice, everyone knows what an element is, so people are just going to pick their favourite element because that’s the element they like. if you’re just going off stats and data then that’s kind of boring imo; you can’t call yourself a user of your magic, you’re a user of a stat spread
don’t think that i disagree with being able to change your magic though, i’m all for it in fact, i just wanted to make this one point
