It is annoying how often I’m just chilling in Ravenna, then suddenly I’m getting beat up for just existing.
The most common reason is probably because of the assassination board. I often don’t defend myself because I’m not good at pvp and it feels like even if i tried to, they would kill me anyways.
One time this person called me out for not having any player kills, then proceeded to brag how many player kills they have. To be completely honest, I don’t want to kill other players because it feels mean and rude. I just want to enjoy the game and not ruin it for others.
I would only care about pvp if I was one good at it and two doing at the arena area. I wish could I be in pvp only if i wanted to, but that is not an option right now.
Well, I got a very effective solution that I always use. It’s especially good if you’re terrible at pvp like me.
It’s called “running away”. Most people don’t have 10 minutes of patience anyway. Also if they keep chasing you then you could always just log when you aren’t combat tagged
as someone with the worst skill issue known to man i definitely agree. the amount of times where im just hanging around ravenna or unloading my ship then getting randomly killed is absurd. genuine fun ruiner
You should try a shining healing III elixir. Most sweaty balls players I encountered were discouraged the moment they saw me healed for 758hp that took them 15 mins of their lives chasing a running tp dodge build.
Runners are evolving… Good thing I’m nearly done with building my agility set to swat these flies off the renown board
Annoying as it is, PVP is a part of the game.
If you want to avoid it, I’d recommend avoiding high player density areas like Ravenna. Also, you can have some love/insanity gels, and some healing potion on standby which I find help a lot.
It’s always better to put up a fight, because then there is less of a chance the same guy hunts you again after 5 minutes.
As if we’re not doing the same thing.
Tips for avoiding players in general:
- when using a shop in ravenna, destroy a wall to the house behind it using a heavy weapon. (such as a greathammer or greatsword.) Heavy weapons only destroy walls on client, so on other’s screens it’ll still be there. Then, you can talk to the shop keeper through the wall so that nobody jumps you while you’re shopping. I also recommend doing this if you just wanna go through your inventory without being bothered. I’ve even used greathammers to duck through alleyways and escape players who were chasing me.
- If you go for the micheal felps build a.k.a. max swim speed, the only real way for anyone to chase you down is to have high swim speed themselves. (An alternative with ice/lava magic, dash+jump, → magic jump → dodging reflex → magic jump → dodging reflex → blast straight down to make a platform under your feet → repeat)
- Enter the dark sea FAR away from areas with high player traffic if you don’t wanna risk some jerk stealing 2 hours worth of dark sealed chests, and don’t unload anywhere near Ravenna (I usually prefer to enter and exit around thorin’s refuge, you almost never see anyone out there)
- Maximize for speed on your boat (most sails are cheap enough to get swift on at an alchemist, however you should save ALL your swift scrolls for hull armors which give speed as they can cost over 3k to just to enchant & disenchant once)
we love michael phelps build
If combat as a whole wasn’t so numbers’ focused and aggressively mediocre as it is, I’m sure more people would not share this sentiment, but as of now they’ve introduced far too many variables to ever truly attempt to balance it back out.
You’re going to guaranteed run into some of the nastiest player-thwacking centric builds out there and there probably isn’t a thing you can do about it unless you focus on running full on Agility. Shipbound combat is absolutely hopeless in a gank situation, and now with Dodge Reflex, even combat with your boots on the ground is an exercise in frustrating physics.
I HOPE he desires to add some QoL to it some time in the future, but as of right now I’m not confident in their ability to provide much more then busy SFX clutter and six more memory leaks.
My favorite thing to do is drive in circles around Ravenna or another hot zone in my lv30’s caravel, wait for someone to try to ram it
hop on their ship, and just become their quartermaster but instead of helpful tips it’s annoying remarks about the brig images
too real the only reason i have 4 player kills is because i accidentally killed them while fighting a boss together
u seem hella chill, sorry to hear about that experience my bro >-<
if u drop ur roblox handle ill join u whenever im on and fight anybody u need me to. Plus i play with a pretty cool comunity that would also play with u and protect you. u can u add me on discord(same handle as here for every platform “fridgeUchiha”) also jsut play with freinds in general atleast have one freind who’s competent at pvp, most of my group is pretty competent to say the least and pretty fun to hang out with
Another anti-runner bait post has flourished. Splendid. We’ll be revising our tactics soon.
Yeah it’s kind of annoying how Ravenna literally serves as a spawn-killing area due to the fact that you don’t have permanent forcefield (also the fact that the game loads you in EVEN if assets weren’t loaded in yet)
Not only that every prick I’ve fought back at their attempt of spawn-killing either HAS A GANG to back them up OR they run away?!?! It’s annoying bro.
There is literally no avoiding this part of Ravenna, I’ve seen people chase a poor sod who has 1k renown for 2 hours straight because they just hold that much of a grudge lol.
Best choice is hunting down low populated servers in the server list
Vetex, let us set our own spawn points, please
You sound like a great guy, maybe I’ll add you on discord
Praise the server list. Empty servers are beautiful, loot everywhere, no random people that may or may not kill you, less lag. It’s all amazing
