I usually loot along the way to insanity 1 range, hit a few siren rocks, fight a couple of ships and loot on the way back. how do y’all grind?
I just stay in insanity 0 farming islands because if an atlantean brig jumps mine while i’m away the expedition is basically over
Oh yeah, thats why I never venture too deep. A lotta people like to brag about how deep they get into the dark sea- but its wholly unecessary. You don’t even have to go to the insanity 1 range, since siren rocks, the volcanos and the forests enter the spawn pool and decrease your chance of getting islands with good loot.
Armored Atlantean Brigs are the stuff of nightmares as well. A single strafe from explosive shot killed six of the eight people I got together with on a random server, and we only made it back due to a brave sacrafice. After reviving one of them they dove onto the atlantean boat to aggro them all so we could hobble the boat away and repair it without being pursued.
Yeah the 0-2 range is the best but the 0 range you could basically go without cargo if your careful
I always farm on Insanity range 1 (I do go further but for loot purposes it’s not worth it, I only go there for golden cauldrons)
My main source of sealed chests are Siren Rocks they are hilariously easy to spot at least for me, maybe their songs got to my head. But all in all most of my adventure in the Dark Sea is heavily reliant on Sirens.
Roughly 30-50 chests every hour in this range, it’s a good source regardless.
I enter range 0 with max ship hp, loot a few islands, then leave with 10ish chests
I usually stay within the first range. I really don’t want to deal with water posioning.
I usually stick to the 1st and 2nd ranges. I haven’t really gone beyond that, and there’s no point to do so.
I just… Loot. If I see an island, I loot it. If I see a ship, I loot it. If I see an atlantean ship, I destroy it, and sometimes I loot it.
I usually come back from an expedition with around 50+ chests, I’ve never actually counted them. All I know is that I run out of space on the main deck between the masts, even with neat organization.
My ship is usually busted up pretty bad, so I take any opportunity to repair it.
Then, when I’m back in the Bronze Sea, I keep an eye out for bad fellas, and I go to either Palo Town or Frostmill to unload my cargo. I also pop a luck potion before I do so, so I can get the most valuable drops.
How long does this take you? And do you mind dropping ur ship stats, I come back with around 30 chest but ur obviously doing something I’m not
I thought that the Dark Chest loot got better the further out you went. Is that not true?
Usually go up to the second insanity range, engage in some shenanigans (nearly die), then come back
I think it gets more plentiful, but I’m pretty sure that all dark sealed chests are the same. But who knows? Maybe the far reaches will have unique chests in the future.
Camp Insanity 0 layer, takes sorta long but I can get atleast 30 sealed chests doing that
I get a lot more going to Insanity 1 but yunno, ATLANTEAN BRIGS
Loot any island I see in insanity 0-1 and then dip once I’ve gotten 20+ chests
i used to camp on 0 insanity range and accumulate chests slowly but lately ive been to insanity 1 layer and just shooting sirens on siren rocks and nothing else
i usually grab around 15-25 chests then dip
when i get out i rush straight to sailors lodge/palo town if theres no person that i deem as a threat in the server, if that condition is false then i go straight to shell island
I just camp insanity 0.
As of right now, there’s almost no reason to go any further into the ranges unless you’re going for True Captain or gold cauldrons. Its just more dangerous for no benefit. In insanity 0 range, you get the same loot and its fairly survivable. Plus you don’t have to sail for 20 minutes to get back to the bronze sea. Until Vetex adds better rewards for going further in, camping insanity 0 range is the best if loot is your priority.
chill around 0, sometimes hang around 1 and fish if im feeling cocky but always keep my ship facing away from the island in case i need to evacuate quick for whatever reason
This is my ship.
I don’t think it’s anything particularly special, it’s just good all around.
My expeditions usually max out around 2 hours.
Those sails made me think of this for some reason:
I rarely get out of the first range, because I want my ship to be minmaxed to fight atlantean ships
