How good is my ship and how could I improve it?

Merchant deckhands get their items by stealing from the rest of the crew.

Bruh stock ur not helping rn :sob:

  • Either a brisk archaic or brisk light silver hull (speed is key)
  • Warship archaic/willow sailcloth is perfect (again, speed is key)
  • Charged/Enchanced/Powerful (in order of viability imo) iron carronades are basically a direct upgrade from dragon carronades in nearly every scenario so use those instead
  • My friends keep telling me heavy mortars are amazing for both pvp and pve so i recommend explosive/charged heavy bronze mortars. But you cant go wrong with explosive howitzers either
  • Sailor crew
  • Brisk hammerhead ram
  • Brisk or at least swift ship attachments
  • All max speed deckhands, definitely get shipbuilder, cannoneer and navigator but the 4th option is up to you: enchanter or merchant. The artifacts they use are more situational. If you use your brig to sink npc ships then use lucky coins, if not then use frayed lead lines (weather dmg reduction)

And that basically gets you the best brig build

Yeah people see that theyre the only rare cannons in the game and think theyre the best when in reality iron carronades are superior in every category except point blank dmg :sob:. And even in that category theyre still very close

I been using iron carronades until Imswitched to culverins this morning because I ain’t built for that.

If you feel like youre lacking range then you could just use enhanced iron carronades no? Unless youre really about that range game or theres some other reason you wanted to switch?

Why do enhanced iron carronades when powerful iron culverins do trick?

it is ass
your movement and durability are alright
you could shave off some ram defense since if its just more than half of your ram strength, you should be good
the reason why its bad though…

GET 100% STABILITY YOU’RE GONNA DIE THE MOMENT YOU SAIL INTO A MODERATELY LARGE WAVE

Because enhanced carronades deal way more damage? iirc they have 1.3 range with enchanced so thats plenty of range in most ship fights anyways. Like i said unless you really about that range game there isnt much point to using iron culverines iron carronades

I do what I want

Im asking a question, not ordering you around. Ofc youre free to do what you want :sob:

you should get a fourth ship attachment and a ram

if you use fire, acid or plasma, use their respective arcanium ram variants, theyll deal additional damage over time and likely provide extra durability

swap over to bronze siege weapons

do your enizor quest (note, youll get extra magic storage, but unless youre using arcanium youre never going to use it)

do your deckhands, and make sure to level their loyalty as well, you can give them artifacts which for example reduce damage done by waves or make them fish faster

level them too,
sink any ship you see, it doesnt matter what faction its from, nor whether its an npc ship or player ship (i recommend the former as to not have 50 players after you)
i recommend heading over to bronze sea because it has low hp ships ripe for the taking

I use Plasma, did I powerful the wrong ram?

Oh god
I can’t unsee it now

depends on your personal opinion
this is my advice, and im no metamancer (i am, however, a metalmancer) take my ideas with a grain of salt

if i was in your footsteps, i would go for it
but if you have a different idea, thats perfectly fine

Ok but actually
Can someone cook up maximums for speed, durability, maybe ram damage too?

ADD A RAM!!!

DoT on a ship ram sounds OP though.

i mean, its 50%, 35% and 30% extra damage more damage for acid, fire and plasma respectively
