regular magic doesnât explode from the ocean either
if wind or light can work then so can cloud, though a curseâs usefulness and capability isnât measured just in its destructive power. something like metal will of course deal more damage than clouds, but that doesnât mean cloud canât fight. they could use clouds to obscure and blind, freeze opponents (clouds are actually very cold), or, if they can manipulate the density, perhaps even suffocate someone
its not completely useless, offensively maybe, but it would be good for utility like turning yourself into a cloud and running away
Why not though, if magic only does damage when it clashes with magic energy, and the ocean has a ton

Logic-ing it out it with curse users being the only ones to really implode on contact with the ocean it seems like a massive amount of magic energy is required to get that reaction, so typical attacks and constructs with much less magic energy donât explode on contact. Rather they interact with the water as if it had no magic energy as they donât have enough magic energy to trigger the reaction. I dunno maybe Iâm completely wrong here, but with the information on hand this just kinda seems like the natural conclusion to me.

Curse users being destroyed by Magic Energy in the ocean is the stupidest thing ever.
Why does this affect only the user, not the creations?
Why does the ocean have intent to harm?
If simply magic pollution can do that, why canât any magic blast?
How does it not affect Spirit Energy Curse users?
