Who the hell thought it was a good idea to lock all relics behind minibosses with extremely weird spawnrates and inconsistent drops?
Anyone else having these issues? I played for literally 4 hours serverhopping and got absolutely nothing

Spend 10 days grinding delamere just to not get the orb

We need some more simple ways to obtain relics & I hope there is a main story boss that uses relics at some point so you won’t need to search half the sea for 1 guy who might not even give the drop
I’m surprised that people didn’t expect this to be a massive issue from the start. Locking vital class progression behind minibosses that are extremely inconsistent to find (seriously, Delamere and the Crone are on their ships in the middle of nowhere half the damn time!) and then behind inconsistent drops is… idiotic, to say the least.
If people are willing to pay upwards of 10k for a Tidestone Band… I have no little for Oracle/Spirit Classes going forward.
Mage doesn’t deal with shit like this. The worst they have is getting rare/lost scrolls, which is guaranteed by mystic chests (I think) and can drop from ANY chest. Fighting Style builds have it a bit worse with how they get styles and mastery, same with weapons having to find new weapons.
None of them have to actively hunt bosses and get extremely lucky (minus tidestone band dude) to get a way to progress.
In the lore relics are very rare so it’s for immersion.

Knowing Vetex, that could very well be the reason.
At the very least though, they should have an 100% chance to drop on first kill (no matter the build).
Relics should be found on islands like the rusty zweihander
that weapon is one of the coolest purely because we pick it up off the ground
yeah wait wtf relics should also be things we find as well, would also be cool and give more storytelling then just picking them off of foes we fight once
Lore wise my ass would’ve stripped those relic bosses to their underpants so I know that this is purely a gameplay problem ong…
I love AO, love the update so far, and WoM got me into writing, so I’ll always be grateful for it, but at some point the obsession with making mechanics as lore-accurate as possible is likely going to fuck the game up, down, and around the corner. First an entire build stat’s combat method is locked behind miniboss spawns that range from “unreliable” to “literally can’t spawn due to a bug,” next you’ll tell me that Chainshots will need to be aimed at a ship’s sails to slow it down.
Personally? A relic lore rework could be cool too, like a rare metal that can be used to create low grade spirit weapons or something
Honestly? Hell yeah. Imagine Hephaestus blessing an entire steel mine and forcing the War Seas to deal with the consequences of that centuries down the line.
I want a faction that’s trying to reverse engineer spirit relics fr…
Also we could just make it so oracle builds get the drops guaranteed once or something and then it goes back to being random

volcanic relic when
the dm doesnt want you to know this but the goblins swords are free you can just take them I have 53 serrated goblin scimitars
it’s a lot easier to do in servers that are fresh, in which they respawn almost immediately after defeat, so it seems like aside from delamere it’s just a bug going on for now.
I like to think of spirit builds as the expert mode, which is good because players are unlikely to pursue it on their first run with its position as a less hyped-up equal to magic.
Wait WHAT
Why are relics so special then if metals and gems were also gifts made by the gods? Surely a rare metal or alloy of some kind must exist
There’s a difference between gifting humanity iron to be used as iron and gifting humanity a magical weapon to be used as a weapon
