Hybrids & Lost Magics

how did this topic change to charging effects
i mean i doubt they are harder to add than any other spell

Because we got into replacing first mind magics

ah that sucks, sounds kinda weird that hybrids are able to wield an ancient magic but not 2 lost magics lol. but it’s ok i guess. tho this threw my plan off. oh well got some years till i can figure it out

I’m guessing warlocks will be able to use 1 ancient magic and 1 lost fighting style or vice versa, to equal mages having 1 ancient magic and 1 lost magic.

ima gonna have a warlock rocking 1 lost magic, 1 base magic, and 1 ancient fighting style.

I’ve thought of hybrids in this way (at least warlock), I can still get a lost and an ancient, or two losts. However, the side that gets the ancient (magic or strength), will be the side I’ve focused on. So if I invest more into my magic, then I get an ancient on my magic; if I invest more in my strength, the I get the fighting style equivalent (likely the upgraded lost style).

Warlock options
Style: common, common; Magic: base
Style: common; Magic: base, base

Style: common, lost; Magic: lost (Debatable)
Style: lost; Magic: base, lost

Style: common, ancient; Magic: lost (Debatable)
Style: ancient; Magic: base, lost

Style: common, lost; Magic: ancient (Debatable)
Style: lost; Magic: base, ancient

I read somewhere in the forums that you might be able to replace your first mind magic with a lost/ancient. Although if you can’t then you can just ignore those, I’ve labeled them as debatable.

Although I can see warlocks eventually getting the upgraded base magic/common style as the cherry on top for whatever pathway they go down alongside their lost/ancient selection. Why? Makes sense if you think about it, mages and berserkers can probably have the same upgraded common/base, and a lost/ancient or lost/lost set alongside it.

It’s more likely to me that it’ll follow the same convention as additional Magics/styles you have to make a choice
