I don't get why people are hating on the PVP toggle

I’m not, I’m whining that it’s a PvP feature when it should absolutely not be.

Why would I be not allowed to build without engaging in PvP? Farming and base building are like the least competitive sounding things ever.

farming to get resources to build defenses to protect your island from other clans

anyhow i don’t wanna derail so if you wanna continue this shoot me a dm

But I don’t want to protect my island from other clans, I want to build a fort

mf this is not derailing

it’s going into the purpose of clans rather than pvp toggles so i’d say yes it is derailing

We’re talking about why I think the PvP toggle is bad, which is tied to clans.

Why add building and then make it a personal invite to get punched in the face?

don’t go into an antique shop expecting modern products, don’t go into a pvp based feature expecting a pve focus

I expected it, I didn’t like it though; I just didn’t expect to be forced to give it all up for one of the best features ever the next year.

You actively admit to a parasitic and harmful playstyle and enjoy it. I’m not projecting if that is a sign of attention seeking and often taking anger and control on others for a sense of your own control.

Basically, you’re arguing for an opinion that doesn’t matter because what you want isn’t going to happen for the sake of the majority of the player base, because turns out, the majority can win! I know! Insane.

Grow up.

Just because you think it’s stupid doesn’t make it bait, and let’s be clear. When I said 1/4th of people agreed with me in a poll, I was being slightly inaccurate for the sake of brevity. Throughout the thread, I never committed to any method of selecting people. My only position was that it was not the case that it would not be better to use any method of selection that doesn’t include every single person than to give no restores at all. The actual truth is that 23% of 39 voters voted for restoring items for “a couple people via giveaway” with the only other option being no restores, and then one person below the poll said “where is the restore as many people as possible option” which implies that they didn’t vote and that they still agree with me, so I said 1/4th counting them as well, but the point is that 23% of people hold an opinion which you think is so stupid that nobody could genuinely hold it. Your bait senses would be objectively wrong in that case

You might’ve taken it that way, but it was clearly meant to be ironic. One clear sign that it’s ironic is that all of the ways he refers to people who don’t pvp are obvious exaggerations at best and he doesn’t attempt to support them. The way I see it, he thought he was safe in making those remarks because he was passing them off as jokes, and that seems obvious in context to me

Many people use feigned chauvinism as a form of humor. In fact, I would say that most of the time when someone says that they or something else aren’t “the real [insert here]”, and they are using real in the sense of “proper” rather than “actual”, they are joking. This really isn’t something that can be shown through explanations, it’s just something people tend to learn through experience in real life

You can be biased and still believe that you are putting forward valid arguments, and if not, then is a freshie who’s been ganked also incapable of debating in good faith about it?

You can’t have it both ways. Either they’re baiting and they don’t hope to convince a single soul, or they’re selfishly arguing in order to advance their own interests and enjoyment in the game over those of others (I’m not saying that there is no other option, just that you can’t choose both of those)

When I say that, I mean they were giving you the benefit of the doubt by calling it bait.
They believed it was too stupid to be something you’d legitimately say or suggest, so it must have been bait.

I have very little opinion on the matter since that whole situation passed ages ago and will hopefully never repeat.

I do think that a raffle or giveaway or anything like that would lead to absolute outrage, though.

@TheoreticalExistence what if you thereotically didnt fall for the bait every time

do you do anything but try and take jabs at me for talking to people anymore?
it is getting frustrating.

Mate ive done that twice

yes and I didn’t appreciate it the first time either.
shockingly people don’t like when you jump into the conversation to take jabs at them.

Ok but I just wanna say if arguing isnt reaching anything you can just “agree to disagree” :+1:

I don’t think they really believed it was bait. They just said that to insult me, but if they did believe it was bait, they’d have been wrong. Whatever the reason is, my point is the forum mob has gotten this wrong before

Yeah we cool
