As long as its not boring and stupid RNG like sunken items in WoM and legendary weapons in AA, I’m fine with it.
The rarer an item is, the more fun grinding for it should be. It should be rare enough that you don’t immediately get it, but not so rare that the process of grinding directly takes away from the game as a whole.
I hope that once AO releases, the Dark Sea is exactly what I’m talking about here, since it sounds like once you enter, the game basically changes completely from an RPG to a rogue-lite.
(I also hope that it means I can get fishing exclusive items without being forced to do the most boring thing in the entire damn game for it)

Fuck the entire concept of getting swarmed by a small army of guild players that have hardly spent 5 minutes grinding because you actually found something you was grinding for weeks to get all because you have a giant marker over your head now that tells people that if they kill you then they can have the thing you found until you secure it.
If stealing shit is in the game, then it better not alert people to what I’ve found or place a damn marker over my head.
Yeah definitely not to that level, although it’d be cool if sealed chests could be stolen from other players as long as they’re fairly easy to find
That system was awful, it just made you more afraid of getting the chart than anything. Plus you had to worry about the possibility of being disconnected as well so it was just unnecessary stress for nothing.

to get sunken it was the literal most boring acquisition ever, your character sits still and you click every 15 seconds
If you are going to make something luck based so not everyone has it (which i highly agree with) at the very least make the task enjoyable.
All i hope is that theres something rather rare for each stat build
Anyways, I like arcane reborn’s legendary weapon system. Its still possible to find the person with the chart, but not impossible to hide somewhere. Its possible to hide in placed like wilderness islands rather than being unable to hide due to a big ass marker on your location that anyone can just sail to.

I agree with this. Getting something that fuckin rare should be something to get for only yourself instead of just some objective to survive from op fucker squads hunting the funny green scroll mark in a server.

In my opinion, Vetex should lock some of the really rare stuff like Primordial Magics behind very hard challenges that even endgame players can’t boost through with just stats.
