So to do this day, I have yet to really attempt maxing out jewel crafting because of how tedious and (imo) kinda expensive it is. And after reading some topics I have really come to realize how important they are so does anyone have some pointers on how to efficiently max jewel crafting, and what jewel types I should prioritize?
Exotic tier gems seem to give substantially more jewelcrafting XP than rare tier.
Using T2 reagents for jewelcrafting also not only doubles secondary stat rolls from T1 but also massively increases jewelcrafting XP gain.
You only need to craft 100 rare gems with T2 reagents to get enough XP for perfect.
With exotic gems added to the mix now that number is probably noticeably lower.
So basically get many exotic gems and t2 reagents
give me some gems and i’ll level it up
Possible solution but I want to be perfect
I’m just a lvl away from perfect brewing and have perfect cooking soo I’m like 45% there
This is how I got mine fast:
If you need to get gems you should really try to ship farm since you’ll also gain other goods and you’ll come across underwater structures which will give possible rare/exotic/legendary regents.
Types of regents you should go for (Outdated but still works imo):
Try and get trades for empty bottles so you can obtain tide potions from the dark seas
Try and get coppershrooms so you can get better jewel XP
Also get auric seaweed + luminous coral
(Outdated stuff above btw, could still prove efficient but not by much)
What Theoretical said as well (Best Exotic to farm easily might be luminous coral) and farm dark seas for exotic gems works
I knew that copper shrooms were the primary grind material but I didn’t want to jump from jaw to jaw, you know any alternatives that are maybe just as good?
Also maybe I will consider seriously ship farming cuz now I’ve got a brig with iron carronades a sand ram and 18k health
Coppershrooms can easily be obtained by mount othrys, not just by jaws but I don’t think you’ll get much from coppershrooms anyways idk
can someone pretend i’m dumb and simplify jewel crafting by telling what exactly the point is/how it works? It seemed too complicated when it came out so I just gave up and ignored it, but with the dark sea I prob need to figure it out but now I’m lost loll
Stormsalt, auric seaweed, coppershrooms, and thornflowers are probably your best bets.
Oh cool I’ve already been picking up thorn flowers from DS
What effect do thorn flowers give?
You level up jewelcrafting
then you craft it with specific regents
and you hold up a gem
go to a gem crafting
and you got yourself free stats on a gem and secondary stats
then you click on gem in inv and equip it on an item with a gem slot
gg…
Ok so there’s two parts of each “jewel” (finished product)
The gem which determines the jewel’s primary stats like power or defense or attack size ect ect
(exception being musgravite which has no primary stat and instead doubles secondary stat)
The reagent that determines the jewel’s secondary stats like swim speed, water breathing, knockback, ect.
One gem + 5 of your chosen reagent creates the jewel with a randomly rolled secondary stat % based on the reagent used.
for example, if you used coppershrooms you’d get somewhere between a 3% energy regen boost and a 5% energy regen boost.
thank you both loll I think im finally starting to understand
So what I’m getting from this is that almost everything I need for jewel crafting can be found in the DS
That is very useful information
Honestly I’m shocked I haven’t heard anybody talk about switching away from using coppershrooms to grind XP in favor of thornflowers lol.
The attack destruction stat is admittedly completely useless but you can get thornflowers AND various other loot at the same time instead of being stuck just getting coppershrooms and nothing else.
This is all very useful info but what secondary stat should I be prioritizing?
Honestly, now I am thinking about making a high destruction build
max intesnity + destruction + explosion would be funny
make special gems
gain jewel exp
make special gems
gain jewel exp
repeat until perfect
get gems
make special gems
put them into ur armor
gain more stats!!!
I fear no man, but by that thing… it scares me
