Some guy with 4000+ kills decided “hey, I’m gonna get this one specific island that this guy is already using, and not literally any of the other free’d up islands in this server”.
I hate this.
took me from 1% contribution to 0.7% just by showing up, pretty much.
Why do some people get to do 400 damage per hit, and do it nearly instantly?
WHY DO I LOSE 135 INFAMY FROM MY ISLAND BEING CLAIMED OVER?
I had to leave a server that I was trying to complete Bronze Sea Diver on, because he tried to rejoin to unclaim the island just to do it again, what even is toxicity anymore?
Oh, and don’t let me forget, after I decided to give up and let him take the island after like 10 kills on me, he destroyed my ship too.
Why is PvP so intensely integrated into this game where it’s supposed to be optional?
Please stop rewarding players for preying on the weak.
Because Vetex is under the impression that it’s the main thing keep his game afloat. What he fails to realize is that it’s probably what’s causing it to sink.
This is half the reason I’ve effectively stopped playing AO. For every positive interaction I have with a player, I have about three negative ones. I don’t get that ratio anywhere else—not even in TF2, a literal PVP FPS game.
I wouldn’t even be dabbling in clans at all if it wasn’t for there going to be an entire update that makes it so that you can build stuff, but only if you have a clan.
It’s only going to make clan battling worse.
I’m glad I have ideas for a better build for myself, because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t stand a chance in Empires.
I’m just waiting for the update to actually be out in case there’s some super good thing that I need.

it literally just happened again, this game is unplayable right now.
This has happened like 5 times since I picked it back up to ready for empires.
I literally can hit every shot on this guy, because he has no movement to him, and I still lose.
There should be a clan that specifically just watches around and attacks random killers to keep them occupied. If someone’s wasting your time, they’re always winning.
Also somebody should make a thread of making the optimal build for every class and magic in the game. Mainly cuz it’d be useful. Sort of cuz it would be funny.
why stay in the server and let the same guy kill you 10 times, especially someone with 4000 kills who certainly has 0 life and will beat you every time
They want the exact same thing as you, they’re just doing it more efficiently.
You chose to join a clan, one which can’t help you out in a gank seemingly, and chose to claim an island. Sound like a lot of options were presented to you.
What’s the point in infamy/reputation farming in the first place?
The only thing it does is rewarding you with a title that has no real game value and a place on a list.
I think this feature should just be removed entirely. Sure, it boosts playtime because people follow the instincts that gives them pleasure from seeing their number increase, but it also increases the amount of toxicity that vetex hates.

To serve as a bank, to belong to a group and be more easily identifiable, to customise your character ever-so-slightly more (though of course the banking purpose will be outright removed next update in exchange of a cool building mechanic).
