A lot of us know of the thread where we discussed about Scythes as a weapon - and pretty much the majority of Forumers agreed that Scythe is… A very inconvenient weapon to use in actual fight, but rather stylish and cool.
So i’ve thought more of this - how much more of these inconvenient and impractical weapons we CAN get in Arcane Odyssey and how will they be designed?
I’ve thought a lot of Twin Headed Blades like these ones:
They would look really cool, but honestly, its so bad for parrying because of lack of crossguard that I honestly think it’s just an “improved” version of Staves.
Oh yeah, since we’re talking about dual headed weapons, here I introduce to you the inconvenience final boss:
Anyways when it comes to these there are probably a lot of ways to design a weapon to be inconvenient, there’s a collection of things designed to be as uncomfortable or inconvenient to use as possible
Imagine maces but shittier. Imagine whips but purposely designed to make their user’s existence miserable.
They would look cool though, probably cooler than any magic we’ll ever get, and I guess that invalidates all the practical problems with them (besides bloating the weapon roster but then I wouldn’t be talking about it)
The weight of the blade makes the gun harder to aim, and the gun makes the blade harder to use. Just have a blade and draw your secondary gun, it’s faster than reloading the blade.
My favorite rendition of it is in a game called lies of p, specically in it’s dlc ouverture.
The weapon is called pale knight and it doesn’t shoot bullets, instead it shoots out small explosions that can be used to shoot forward or shoot backwards to propel forward and use the knockback to do a stronger slash.
It’s peak
It is really good can’t recommend it enough. Tho be warned the parries are tighter than sekiro’s (you can still roll ig but parrys are a lot more crispier)
