Ofc I’ve never played AO so I don’t have any experience but I’ll just comment about your vid

Agree with:

  • Your points about blocking
  • Perfect blocking the first hit in a multi-hit attack should affect the rest of the blocked hits in the attack as well
  • Perfect blocking being more rewarding in some way
  • T-jumps taking less stamina, I think they take too much rn
  • Power stat nerf, even though I do enjoy feeling powerful with my 200 dmg magma blasts it is too much compared to base HP
  • Magic Charge cancelling, a pretty useful feature since your only option rn is to dodge out of it

Disagree with:

  • Parrying stunning your opponent, I feel like only melee players would suffer from that while ranged players get off free
  • Increasing HP/ Hp scaling, I feel like that might lower the incentive to put points in vitality. Most people already see it as the most lame stat anyways
  • Magic charge movement, I think having charging being risky during combat is a pretty cool feature for some reason. Either way after our first awakening we unlock passive energy regeneration (vetex mentioned this on twitter) so staying still while holding shift will probably be less of a burden

Confused about:

  • Your points about beam distance & travel time, didn’t really understand what you were trying to say
  • iFrame dashes, never played hollow knight so I couldn’t really visualize it. So do you get to choose when you proc your iframe, or is it random? Cause what if I proc iframe against a small blast attack that’s followed up with a max size explosion/aoe attack, that would be pretty inconvenient

I like how much nicer just the addition of dodges made combat. Love the video! I do think that combat will definitely change over time as more things are added and the level cap increases.

essentially, in hk you get the shade cloak, which upgrades your dash to give you iframes, but once you dash with the shade cloak, you go back to regular dashes for about 2(?) seconds, then you can dash with your iframes again

iframes on dashes aren’t needed idk why he even put it in the video, i already told him there would be upgrades for dodging in the future

almost all the points in the vid are non issues

Vetex, i was wondering, but will you be planning to add new color variations to the base magics? Like some kind of copper variation of metal magic?
