I dont see how its a pirate game when both aa and ao talk about a random nobody with no memory of their past trying to find themselves while embarking on a journey across the seas and fighting foes with your magic abilities.
Also note that the first two seas start with us beating the shit out of a bunch of pirates.
And nothing our character does is remotely close to a pirate’s behaviour, we save not one but two towns.
We find out and try to destroy the mexican cartel of the au, we end up killing multiple high members
And end up murdering the ruler of a whole nation and flee to a newer and more dangerous sea where we rescue some soldiers and get the blessing of a kingdom and join them to fight a war.
Conclusion: ao is a magical adventure game mixed with sailing and slight terrorism
