earth is bigger and faster and basically feels like a direct metal upgrade as it has so much more going for it

glass is better for applying bleed and you cannot make any other argument for this point

metal doesnā€™t even really have any synergies outside of the gimmicky frozen one

earth isnā€™t shit, itā€™s basically metal but trades bleed proc for bleed synergy which can be useful on some builds

but generally iā€™m saying metal is better (very slightly)

Imo, metal is more reliable generally because of the consitent bleed procs if you are using it as a solo magic, and yes 0.1x and 0.05x speed is good, the difference isnā€™t impactful enough to make metal garbage.

yeah, thatā€™s true
tbh, earth, metal and glass are all decently balanced if you compare them with eachother
earth is more based on size and damage
metal trades a bit of size and speed for a little more damage
glass trades in size and damage for much more speed, the only 100% reliable bleed and damaging hazards
wood is a bit between glass and metal with higher speed, similar size, decent synergies and a bit less damage

basically every single argument here for metal is the fact it procs bleed.

wow okay so cool yes metal can make people bleed!!! except it canā€™t really do anything with that bleed because it doesnā€™t get any bonus from it and as Iā€™ve said a bazillion times before, glass is right there if you want to use a magic thatā€™s specifically for applying bleed, you would get, so much more value going for glass or even wood instead of using metal.

secondly, you guys really have no idea how slow 0.55x speed is compared to earthā€™s 0.6x which doesnā€™t sound like a lot but there definitely is a difference.

also we arenā€™t even talking about imbues! earth imbues are probably one of the better ones whereas metal is almost totally useless on warlock and conjurer.

also metal is a lot smaller than earth which isnā€™t good considering how pathetically slow it is.

TL;DR: saying metal is ā€œvery slightly betterā€ than earth has to be one of the biggest copes Iā€™ve ever seen.

metal: highest damage, lowest speed, decent size
earth: second highest damage (0.05 difference), second lowest speed, highest size (tied with explosion)
(also earth has some of the coolest synonyms you can choose from)
quite clearly earth is better
