Is there any actual reason to be a good person?

I must’ve gotten the spray patterns for the oats mixed up, my bad

Yep. Cock.

Being a prick just feels bad. Just like how people feel hungry when they don’t eat, people feel guilty when they’re doing the wrong thing.

i mean
he is a writer
so

Which is why I said that…

Wait, typing . . together insta corrects it to …

if you nice to people, people nice to you, you have friends, friends give gifts and does favours for free.

this is the sosiopath way to look at friendship i guess

This just went to shit, didn’t it?
Wake up in the morning and they are 87 more replies to my comment, with less than ten of them really directly tackling the question.

The rest are either just arguments that sprung out of the post, accusatory comments, or people that failed to actually read the second line in my initial post.

Using buzzwords such as “sociopathy” and just calling it a day does not in any way address the point. It just shows an aversion towards what was being said.

I’m not going to ask someone to close the thread, but god fucking damn.

well theres no reason to be an asshole either

Out of all honesty, no. There’s no reason to be a good person. Of course everything has consequences and rewards but there’s no law or any real reason why human life should have good moralities towards other living things. Sure, society might collapse if everyone was a killer or such, but there’s one thing. Being a bad person doesn’t only involve killing. In reality, nearly every human being can bee seen as a bad person. People lie, they steal, they hurt, they destroy. It’s how humans work. Morality is merely a way to increase happiness and quality of life for those around you and yourself. There are cons to being a bad person, such as being treated badly, hurt back, or becoming untrustworthy. There are many theoretical reasons to be a good person, however they’re all community based and the reasons are merely denying the cons of being a bad person while not stating the gain of anything. Let’s look at an example. Hitler, he was seen as an awful person, which brought “good” people to him to stop him. In the end, Hitler got way less out of being a bad person than the people who were being good, and not out of gain. Hitler merely loss more than the people being good. There’s no gain to either side, and morality is practically just a state of mind that someone can’t just select. Even if someone says they’re a “good” person, they most likely have hurt people or lied plenty in their life. The term in it itself is useless as it’s not something people can really achieve without devoting themselves to it their entire life. Of course, people can become good people, but that doesn’t mean they have internal thoughts about being a bad person.

In other words, being a good person is entirely how the people around you look at you and see you as a person, not how you act or treat others. Plus, there’s no actual reason to be a good person, it merely limits the consequences to a minimum. Some people also get joy out of seeing other’s joy, while others get the opposite. (Those people being sadists)

Idk why, but I just felt like answering in all honestly bcs I’m bored as hell. :<

how about

be whoever you want

doesn’t matter and I do not care

You don’t need to but depending on how you are as a person, you’ll probably find yourself being nice whenever and wherever, I’m kinda like that if you ask me. Nobody in this world is devoid of kindness imo, you might be the most evil person in the world but I believe there might be someone (or something) you show a little kindness to. I guess being seen as kind just makes it easier for others to trust you and such. :man_shrugging:

According to Level I’m not arguing I’m just making a statement hah

I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I personally believe that there are many reasons to be a good person. We will be judged at the end according to what we’ve done here on this earth.
We will remember and fully understand what we’ve done as well, so we will understand and possibly feel the pain we inflict on others.

There are more pros than cons in consideration of being a good person.

Have a good day.
