Forest Dragons
The guardians of forests across the surface of Ellipse and those hidden forests kept far from human touch.
Forest Dragon are long-lived creatures who serve as guardians to the wild-life in the woods.
Their dens and homes are hidden in the trees and con only be found by a trained eye.

A painting of one of the longer lived forest dragons, Naja Iguana aged 567 years. The actual appearance is unknown. stolen from online

Disposition : Forest dragons don’t take kindly towards humans intruding in their territory. Most time the dragons will leave humans alone to hunt food like any other animal. On the occasion a human chops down a tree, depending on whether it was already dead or not. A forest dragon may take action. Not as strong as A fire wyvern but still just as potent. Deals can be struck with them to allow the harvesting of wood for expansion.

Diet : Forest dragons don’t seem to eat. They bask in the sun for most of the day and get most of their energy from that. If they do eat it is to dispose of rotting corpses.

Unique Properties : The ability to grow plants at will. Immunity to toxins harmful to humans and even other dragons (because of this some scholars have asked for some of the dragon’s blood). Poisonous breath attacks against those that seek to harm the forest it guards. Animals seem to ignore forest dragons, a forest dragon walks by and animals may look at it, but will always ignore it.

Habitat : Jungles and forests.

Lifespan : Forest dragons are one of the longer lived dragon races some aging to around 700. As they age their bodies don’t stop growing. A 50 year-old forest dragon is only about two-heads taller than a man, while older ones, like Naja Iguana, can be as tall as 4 men.
