Faust wordlessly explaining to Dante with exaggerated expressions showing how 5 entire backdoor spaces are completely filled with modules.
for goodness sake skip some thread lux
Of course I’m not going to hoard the modules, but I already have enough thread from skipping 5 times a week. I’ll probably just skip luxcavations whenever I need the resources.
fluid sac or thoracalgia faust, or should i just save for walpurgis
thoracalgia is where its at, especially if you’re running poise, assuming you have other egos capable of SP healing.
would you rather: 20% hp in one turn or 5% (10% in poise teams) every turn!
Outside of a poise team, Thoracalgia’s healing is slow to both activate and ramp up. That would you rather you posed isn’t as much of a sweep as you’re making it out to be imo. (Edit: it also needs resonance)
Emergency healing is really good, especially when fights go by so fast and you’re only breaking even after 4 turns at max scaling. Having SP healing in the same package is also incredibly strong since you don’t have to use 2 egos worth of resources. (also, 2 prot every turn)
Thoracalgia does seem incredibly strong in a poise team though (only one archetype), and it may be more fun than fluid sac. But I don’t think fluid sac is that boring, the aoe is fun and it frees up team building since a lot of sinners still lack good HP/SP healing egos.
Never would I not recommend Fluid Sac, but if you’re doing fine without it then maybe save for walp?
Honestly the biggest draw of thoracalgia to me is how easy it is to fuel in comparison.
4 gloom + 3 envy + 2 lust (a pain in the ass, fights usually don’t last long enough to use this)
vs
5 pride + 1 sloth + 1 gloom (turn 3 on just about every team I use)
If a fight does last long enough then everybody’s already at 45 SP so the sanity healing is worthless lol.
Like with the big fight at the end of the most recent story bit, there are so many unbreakable coins that rack up damage over time.
Having a 5% (or 10% on poise) global heal every turn undoes most of that and my team ends up lasting way longer while I can focus resources into dealing damage (thora does very good damage in most cases too, being a 2 coin ego, meaning I can make it ramp up way faster by just using it more)
did rr4 and rr5 without fluid sac and it was horrible but i managed, i’ll think about it
my main team in md is poise though
I’m not really considering MD for what I consider to be good, its a whole other playing field lol.
I’d rather focus on stuff that’ll help me clear story bosses rather than what I already know that I’ll 100% stomp.
Like obviously fluid sac is way better in MD because you have borderline infinite resources and can do it every turn without batting an eye.
I still think thoracalgia faust is super good especially when paired with ryoshu’s if your team has enough pride to activate the effect.
i’ll get it, i dont have any healing egos, and representation emitter is my only sp heal
personal experience isn’t the same as general use cases. You seem like you use blade lineage and poise in general as your team setup, judging by how you get enough pride in one turn
No its also that way for my bleed team (KK + bloodfiends) and my burn team.
Admittedly faust isn’t even on the bleed team but if she was she’d be able to fuel it really easily.
All three archetypes produce mountains of pride lol.
Looking at it, the tremor team that I keep forgetting I have also doesn’t have any problems with pride.
Burn team can’t do it, all pride is reserved for Magic Bullet
I disagree, while magic bullet is important, you only need one use of thoracalgia to set up the healing even if you’re already in a good position.
In those first few turns, outis can easily start ramping up bullets without the help of the ego.
You definitely don’t need it every turn lol.
Not to mention that gloom borders on non-existent on the burn team.
outis cannot in fact easily ramp up bullets, the first three bullets are not especially strong
It’s certainly cheaper but it simply requires different teambuilding. Fluid Sac’s cost is a bit expensive for a HE but it is absolutely fuelable.
Short fights are basically gone now. Every event final stage, RR, and story boss fight is long enough for “long effects” to become important. Your logic that “fights don’t last long enough to [fuel FS]” goes against Thoracalgia’s trickle healing (and it’s scaling trickle healing from 1-5% - that’s even slower).
Hell, I would even disagree that 5% per turn is enough for some unbreakables.
5 pride is not easy on every team. There’s 7 status archetypes, each focusing on their respective sin. I have like… 4.5 teams now, and just forcing Nebulizer++ is MD is difficult on non-poise teams.
People can die? People can use other egos? Enemies can have sp loss effects?
I don’t disagree that Thoracalgia is bad - it absolutely seems strong, but I don’t think it’s a strictly better FS outside of pride-poise teams, or even in poise teams. FS is incredibly strong, and if you lack healing egos of HP or SP then I would recommend it over something mainly for one archetype.
admittedly I prefer it so heavily over fluid sac because I have other egos that fill the lost roles handily.
Like pursuance, sunyata, holiday, etc that can easily fill the SP support role and focused big healing.
Having stuff like Sunshower and Thoracalgia is a top priority for me because they only increase in value with the longer fights get.
As good as an instant 20% +20 SP is, if I have to sacrifice it to heal 5% every turn and use different egos as my quick heals, no chance I’m not doing that lol.
quick minor structure mistake
