hmm, if they could roll a 30 they might be a bit of trouble, but I think that’s just levelling the playing field, given base don can roll above a 20 with a skill 1 in most fights*
*most fights including story chapters, IE without ego gifts
tbf 30 was a bit of an extreme case because iirc i mostly picked defense level up floor buffs
this isnt the worst because you can take ego resource reward cards which tend to last a while if you use ego sparingly (i still had plenty of resources left despite having to spam for prequod town)
shouldnt be an issue for a base ego

People love to make jokes about Ahab skipping the cutscenes, but I personally interpret Ahab as beginning to talk to Her right after Ishmael talks about giving her crew a chance.

That is the line that I believe is Ahab beginning the argument. Especially since the bell tolls here. I imagine that even She was like “bruh you really shoulda given them a chance why did you kill them” but Ahab refused, and frankly, while I know all it takes is to refuse with proper conviction, the thought that what Ahab did was the reasonable, rational option, and that feeling remorse and distorting is the irrational, emotion option is kinda terrifying. Also, more substance to my very insubstantial claim: After Ishmael’s 2 lines about giving the crew a chance, Ahab is the only person to talk until the fight actually starts, meaning that the entirety of her dialogue could have been her talking to Her
Anyways, yeah to summarize my yap: Ahab reads the cutscenes, she’s just not completely clear as to who she’s talking to. She properly argues with and refuses Her.
