tbf ancient greeks conceived of ‘space’ very differently from us, they first believed it was made of 4 elements like everything else, then later some believed it was a spherical celestial realm around the earth filled with a light, invisible quintessential substance that also naturally orbital in circles. it might be closer to the christian view of heaven (they also used to believe that heaven was in space, after all) than our modern understanding of outer space
and it is well known that zeus was king of the greek gods, and therefore the ruler of their realm
